Evening all. Home now. Not a bad day at all. They say Japanese cherries have a peak of a few days, to day was one of the few days where beech trees have just opened their leaves, and even though it was cloudy, the light underneath was magical. @punkdoc, Warmest wishes to you both and many more years to come. Can I ask a favour? With Moira's permission, might you post a photo of the piece you've had done for her. I totally understand if you might not want to "share" it . I hope she derives much joy from it.
Death by Powerpoint! One of the great joys of retiring is never having to give or receive another PP presentation ever again. Years ago on an awayday we got a very professional presentation from one of Terence Conran's sons who ran a design studio, think top end Apple kit and high end film studio work. Our new director who had come in from industry to the Civil Service was upset that none of our presentations was of a comparable standard. He only calmed down when we pointed out the cost of producing just one of those Hollywood style presentations was several times the annual IT budget we had for over 100 staff.
A few months later we asked him for money to buy some image rights for photos to use in our presentations of a flagship govt tech programme and he nearly choked. Couldn't we just take our own photos? Well yes we could if we had a spare £100million to build our own nanotech lab first
Did a few pottering among the seedlings type things, then spent a large part of today curled up on the sofa with a good book ... followed by roasted shoulder of lamb, roasted carrots and potatoes, spring cabbage, gravy and fresh mint sauce made a very fine day indeed.
Now to snuggle down with that book again ...
Sweet dreams all 🛌
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We bought a tap in Been Q, but needs an extra part to make it work with the old fitting. OH will get it in Screwfix tomorrow. Also bought new floor for kitchen, click vinyl. Haven't finished the painting yet.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
