Then again, it could be a sabotage joy by the Cornish Liberation Front, trying to separate Cornwall from all the madness of Brexit.
Despite being the biggest county recipients of EU grants, the good folk of Cornwall voted Leave.
They voted to leave because the industries there thrive on  the weak pound.
My son in law and co workers were given a pep talk by his company urging them to vote leave.

And anitpathy - not unfounded - to the Common Agricultural Policy and the Common Fisheries Policy (Tourism, Fishing and Farming pretty much covers the county's long term income). There is a lot to condemn in both policies but the Leave voters didn't give any thought to what would replace them. It's a fairly common theme to the entire Brexit story that everyone is voting against what they don't like and not really giving any serious thought to what they want instead.

new football stadium opened and for all the news reports and articles, I've not once seen the architect's name mentioned.
You never see Architect's sign boards these days. It's all Design Build and the only name you'll hear or see is the builder, unless it goes wrong. Like the Wobbly Bridge incident a few years back. The morning that the news broke, the builder's sign boards were all over it. By the time the BBC reporter got down there, they had all gone and Norman Foster and Arup were left to do all the talking.

I just spotted the emoji for this thread on my phone. It looks really evil. It was just meant to look angry as it does in my tablet. Apologies to anyone who is just angry but with murderous intent.

Funny, they're now asking who is going to come and harvest their crops, and work in the tourist industry

    Feeling more distressed than curmudgeonly.
I phoned gp surgery to get an appointment. I expected it to be about two weeks hence. I was told there were no more appointments. What do you mean no  appointments?
     Call back Monday
     That's ridiculous!
Phone slammed down. She didn't even bother to check why I needed an appt.

Phoned back and asked to speak to manager - call back Monday.

When can I phone for an appointment?

    8.00 Monday

I don't want to join the 8.00 scramble. When is a good time to phone?

     8.00 Monday.

    Why?

The IT people set up new appointments on a Monday.

Ok is the problem that I called on a Friday?

    No

Our doctors is the same. Last time I needed a routine appointment I phoned every day for a week and was told no routine appointments available to book in advance, but I could have a same-day appointment.  That's no good if I'm already at work when I phone them. They don't seem to understand that for routine things when I'm not actually ill, I need a week or two's notice to book time off work. Grrrrrr.
