Edith Piaf didn't regret nothing. Is that a double negative?

Feeling really curmudgeonly this morning.  I have another cold.  Only got rid of one two weeks ago and now it's back.  I also have another cold sore and can't find the zovirax.  Why hasn't someone found a cure for this illness.  I know they are caused by different viruses but we've sent a man to the moon for God's sake.
Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

I don't regret planting no tulips.
There's probably several cold viruses breeding happily up there now - just waiting

Double negatives are very welcome in the curmudgeons' corner.

Can we guess at the very Irish crisis? Shortage of Guinness? Another potato famine? leprechaun stole your lucky charms?  :o

The field that border 3 sides of our property has been ploughed, that’s ok, but then they came back and limed it,  along with every plant in the garden, the roofs, the car, the patio, it’s three quarter acre plot, could he not have gone a bit easier near the boundary, hope it doesn’t burn the leaves, the hug Clematises and covered.

When we moved here over three years ago, we went to have our eyes checked (as per usual two-yearly check-up) and, not knowing anything else in the town, went to the large, much advertised (and very funny adverts they are - "should've gone to . . . . . ) optician.  Declared OK no new glasses needed. Went there a few months ago to see about the possibility of contact lenses.  I didn't get on with them, so rejected their offer.  Obviously eyes were checked at the time - all OK.  Now the sight in one eye has deteriorated.  Have just seen the local optometrist, who as found  significant cataract that would have been obvious, and should  been dealt with at the very least with yearly eye checks.  Not happy!

Do Specsavers do more than the usual eye checks? My privately run opticians use loads of high tech scanning equipment now and they're only a small town practice. It's a bit disappointing that the big firms are missing basic stuff like that but it makes me glad I've found a good one.

Not really a grumpy post but I bought 2 more sedums today which will probably make my wife grumpy if she finds out :#  I got a total bargain on a sinocrassula for £1 though (it used to be a sedum)
