In this day and age you would think they would make sure the website was up to date. I have just had a look at it and it has now been updated.l expect this may make you even more curmudgeonly,  but l suppose at least you have saved other people a wasted trip......

Don't you just hate it when you complain or  point out a problem and they tell you that they'll mention it to someone? They'll mention it like @#£%&

or when you're in a shop and you ask if they have such and such a thing and they say "no sorry, there's no demand for those". Well I'm demanding them, aren't I?

You're lucky if you can even find a shop assistant to patronise you!

I rarely go into shops at all, if I can help it. Especially clothes shops. "Do you have these trousers in a longer length?" "No all our longer ones are over there" "Do you have any long trousers for women that aren't either jeans or black?" "No, there's no demand for them".

I'm reasonably well-upholstered, but not fat. There are many shops that I wouldn't even bother going into.

Hmm, likewise. To the point where I don't go in any of them. I'm getting pretty good at online shopping.

They had a banner on the gate showing opening times for the winter season even though they're not open in the winter so I'm guessing updating things isn't their strong point. It's a small business though and by the sounds of it the road works are having a serious impact on them. They have to take the same 45 minute detour we took just to go to the shops and the noise is putting the birds off breeding apparently. They get a big chunk of their income from breeding so missing a season of that plus less visitors isn't going to be easy for them.

I had a day out in the spring sunshine with the family which can never be a bad thing however you spend it. We were sat in a traffic jam watching red kites and lapwings over the reclaimed land around the open cast coal mine near Merthyr and admiring the tenacity of the plants that flower on the central reservation of the dual carriageway.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Re shops! I remember trying to buy a pair of slippers: " we only stock them at christmas" said M&S, don't folk wear slippers pretty much all through the year.
I've also struggled to buy swimming trunks " we only stock them in summer" Don't folk go on holiday at other times of they year , are all swimming pools closed except in summer?
Don't even start me on shops being full of pullovers and winter coats in August.
And they wonder why "the high street" is dying?
