AnniD , looked at article about RSPB telling people to dial 999 , personally I think it is a stupid ideaÂ
It's hard enough getting the police to come for something like a burglary, can just imagine their response to a 999 call for birds caught in netting, even if the council are breaking the law.
It seems to be symptomatic of what is happening all over. Don't bother to call your GP, just go straight to A&E. Don't potty train your 4 year old child, let the school do it. They'll teach him get to use a knife and fork while they're at it.Â

Every force has a separate wildlife crime officer but I don't think they have many and whether they deal with emergency calls I don't know. Someone kept shooting the tame ducks on our local pond and I mentioned it to the council ecologist as it's part of a local nature reserve, they told me to report anything like that directly to the wildlife crime officer and gave me his details.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
@islander If you are looking for a used digital DSLR camera MPB is a good place to try. They have lots of used cameras in all price ranges, will post, and give a guarantee.Â

Aestivation is a waste of good sunlight. Someone up here called the cops on some sheep too though. They were loose on the estate and providing free lawn mowing services. They were probably just as surprised at being arrested as they were by the plastic flavour of a lot of the gardens. The grass may be greener around here but it's not greener, if you know what I mean...

Well my wildlife camera has been out for the past few nights keeping an eye on my catmint patch but the weather has been crummy and not much has happened. The odd cat has jogged past the patio doors but none have stopped to sniff. It has been pretty crummy weather though. Last night it caught this fella sneaking about and may explain a few things. I'm pleased to see it wearing a collar and bell but the bell also might be why the dog can hear it outside, if I turn the video volume right up I can hear it jingling. It is stood right by the catmint though and didn't seem interested so I'm not digging it up just yet. I had a thought about planting some lemon balm or something next to it to mask the smell though. The chocolate mint is just waking up for the summer too so that might help.

Oh @islander. Youâve broke the law there, youâre not to say Easter Eggs anymore.đ
Absolutely correct. It will now be know as something along the lines of "Early Spring event based on an ancient pagan festival eggs." Trips off the tongue much more easily.
