    It might be worth mentioning it to your bee man, without making accusations ... just to see it there’s a pattern ... of course, it doesn’t necessarily mean that beekeepers would’ve employed the tree chaps, but possibly their NDNs ? 🙄

    Need to tell the police too.  OK, they won't have the resources to follow it up but at least they will know too, in case there's a pattern.

    Afternoon all,
    horrid news Pdoc! Totally used to being security aware in a big town or city but I guess the isolation of idyllic rural locations brings an opportunity for scumbags. All the forker advice is as usual sensible course of action, hope you get some positive results and that your bees are ok. 😊 hugs for you and Moria and every single bee!
    On a happier note, I'll hopefully get more wildlife in the garden now I have my pond 😊

    @WonkyWomble 👍 😎
    You can pick up some oxygenating plants and some pond snails when you visit next weekend 😊

    That pond should attract lots of wild life.

    Thanks Dove that will be very useful! 😀
    I'm hoping it does Pdoc, it's nice and close to the wildlife part of the garden and there's a shallow bathing part for birds and plenty of escape routes to get out!

    @punkdoc , Commiserations, I'm wondering do you advertise your honey for sale at all?

    @Liriodendron , re your grant to buy plants for your park project, I've just found the details for you. I did a similar project for my local primary school in 2016.  They used a wholesale nursery called Boningale Nurseries, Holyhead Rd, Albrighton, Wolverhamption WV7 3AT, Tel: 01902 376500. The prices for perennials were unbelievably low in most cases. Delivery was £75 though, Wolverhampton to Bath, so you need to factor in that expense. Plants came on a biggish lorry loaded onto racks, so you do need people to unload when they arrive. It might be worth a phone call for a plant price list?

    I meant to do an hour in the garden, but did four. I bet I am stiff tomorrow despite a soak in the bath. The salad leaves are coming up in the tray in the polytunnel.  I have planted rows of radishes, spring onions, parsley, chives, and beetroot outside.   Does anyone else pour a kettle full of boiling water down the row before planting parsley?
    I have a peony in bud, and aquilegias sending up flower shoots. It's only March still. I suspect the growers for Chelsea show will need some big fridges. Everything is about a month in front.
