Good morning all ☕️ Have a good trip and a lovely post birthday celebration 🎉 @chicky Glad you’ve weathered the first storm @islander ... now hold onto your hat for the next one ... did you get many squares done or did you manage to get some sleep after all? Hope @punkdoc pops in today ... weather looks grim so im not going out there , mojo or no mojo.
Do you ever watch the horse racing? I grew up with National Hunt trainers and jockeys in the family and I love watching it on the tv. I never bet, not since my cousin’s horse fell when in the lead two fences from home in the Grand National ... I’d put a whole fiver on it 😭. But I do love watching and picking horses I think will do well ... they get placed 😊
So this afternoon , as well as thinking about replanting some beds, and doing the knitting, I shall be watching the Cheltenham Festival ... you’re welcome to join me 😃

Morning all/afties, evening Pat. Glad you've had a more normal day weather wise Bit drier here after all the heavy rain/wind overnight, but still blustery. A lot more to come later though. Typical March weather. Glad I remembered and tied in the clematis on the screen yesterday, after getting some more vine eyes. Good little online company which does all sizes of them. A job I couldn't do last year, and it was a case of managing the new growth, not always successfully. Glad you've got through the night unscathed islander. Stay battened down for the storm. Hope you have a lovely time chicky. Site keeps shutting down on me when I go in to do it the usual way. I had to type in and pick a previous discussion to get back on. Different message that comes up too. Odd. No probs with other sites.

Good morning. Dodgy site access for me too today. Timing out.
No storms due here but maybe a drop of rain later. I've woken up feeling very tired so more coffee needed before I get started on radiator covers - again. Lots of lovely buds showing on assorted clems now but I shall hold off pruning till I decide which get to go in the new bed - U shaped with two trellis/fences - and which need feeding and supporting in their pots.
Have a lovely day Chicky and Chicklet. Best face forward Pdoc. She'll soon be home.
Stay safe and dry everyone. Gareth sounds messy.

Morning all. Horrible weather here again. I'm with @Obelixx: if you're in a car accident and need an ambulance, you get a bill for it . Folk who go out to sea without "rescue" insurance should be sent a bill if they need rescuing, ditto those in flip flops on mountainsides.
Mountain rescue themselves don't want charges brought in, Hosta. It's completely unworkable anyway. They do a fair bit of 'lecturing' [for want of a better word] to those who go out ill equipped, like the endless parade of folk on Nevis. As long as there are well maintained paths on some hills, there will be folk who'll go out thinking it's like walking round a park. Other walkers often do the assisting/advising to those in bother too. Not sure how easily you could charge folk in car accidents, apart from the drunk/drug drivers who get convicted. Mind you, they should never be allowed a licence again, and should be tagged, in my opinion. More painting today for me too Obs.

I was taken by ambulance after a car pulled out in front of my whilst I was on a motorbike. I had a bill under " the road traffic act " for the ambulance and had to claim it back from his insurance.

I've never heard of that Hosta. Does that only apply in England? Morning BL and islander.

I think a standard minimum "voluntary contribution" should be required to provide equipment and funds for training mountain rescue and RNLI teams. I don't understand why air ambulances are charity funded either.
More coffee needed then a bit of a saw to tweak one of the radiator covers cos, of course, our pipe is in the wrong place and then painting. Have fun with yours FG.
