I'm often awake for several hours during the night anyway, but absolutely terrified of strong winds after a lot of damage to our property in 1987. Not looking forward to tonight/tomorrow. Will probably join you for the cocoa and biscuits please Dove.
Catch you all later, stay as safe as possible my friends.

    I remember ‘87 very well @AnnaB😨
Flasks of hot cocoa and mugs all lined up on the blanket chest and three tins of biscuits, including a tin of almond biscotti left over from Christmas … how did I miss those earlier?

Also a tin of squirty cream and chocolate sprinkles for the decadent ones amongst us.

I’m going to get my head down now and hope to get some sleep before it gets to us … you lot can help yourselves as you arrive and don’t forget @Uff in charge of the collection plate. 😉

Lots of pillows and cozy blankets in the blanket chest if needed.

I'm often awake at night but I blame it on OH snoring. The wind's got nothing on him when it comes to noise :|. Not looking forward to the storm, even though we're only on the very edge of the amber warning area.

  • I'm feeling that tired after last night, I could probably sleep through it all, I hope. If not might bring the horlicks along too.
  • Oooh yes I like Horlicks for a change; really dislike Ovaltine tho 😟
And there’s a jar of Bovril and a kettle available … sometimes that’s just what I need …

  • Stay safe everyone,  hope it's not as bad as predicted.

There’s no word of your storm over there in our news DD here, so maybe you are all surviving OK.
    Fingers crossed for everyone.

No good. cant sleep. Wind started here around 2am, not bad as yet but can hear it whirling around outside. Keep thinking of all the 'things' that perhaps I haven't tied down quite strongly enough, too late now though. Read on FB last evening a list of some 15 services that will not be working this morning from bin collections and postal services to offices, schools and certain car parks (???). They are expecting a river surge on the Seven, and the Towy river that flows through the lower land along the A40 and round Carmarthen will surely flood the farm land across and up to the road as usual, it also floods parts of Carmarthen itself which, in the past, has proved pretty devastating.
Hope all of you down in the Devon and Cornwall areas are coping ok and that you have managed to stay free of any damage so far. Off to get another cuppa now then might try for a snooze if possible.
Hello @PatE I expect you will read all about this latest storm on your news tomorrow.

Not the slightest breath of wind here in North London.

I’ll try another channel. There might be some UK news there. All I’ve seen recently is a terrible landslide in - I think it was Bolivia. 🤭. Can’t remember now.
