A Boy , not watched Montys Japanese garden programme yet Have been to one in Nottingham a couple of years ago with local garden club Does the one you volunteer at have a web site?
Had to be at home this morning so took the opportunity to sow 40 Echinacea Purpurea, 40 Beer-makes hops, 40 Fig-leaved Hollyhock all in modulus and a tray of Salvia patens patio bright blue.
The Yellow delight, Shirley f1, Sungold f1 tomatoes and spring onion "white Lisbon" sown on the 16th have all started germinate.
A trip to the allotment this afternoon.

No gardening for me, Friday is watercolour painting day. Left hubby cutting up wood for raised beds, so tomorrow will be cutting back some dead bits around the garden and the never ending leaves picking up.
I pottered this morning, a bit of this and a bit of that. Mostly we made plans for the garden for the next few weeks - there is masses to do, but still a little early for most pruning and plant replacing.
Potted on some heleniums and generally pottered accompanied by my blackbird friend. I just can't get over how Spring like it is. All the bulbs in pots in the greenhouse have shot into flower, and shoots are coming up all over the place.
Started off OK, planted some pots of crocus, finished off painting the roof edge on the shed. Then I decided to paint the playhouse so got that done. Thought I might just have enough energy to wire and tie in a couple of climbing roses. Then things got silly, I was scraping a bit of moss out of the lawn when hubby said, I don't know why you don't cut back the lawn there as it's always too mossy. No sooner the word, now we have a border that's three ft wider and I'm absolutely exhausted. Think tomorrow I will be mainly lying down in a dark room. Mind you the blackbird and robin are happy.
I potted on the plants I bought last week from the Secret Garden club, absentmindedly tipped out a lily regale bulb I was growing on so hastily repotted that too. The miscanthus 'Zebrinus' I have in a pot is growing new shoots already so cut the old ones down. Had a wander round the garden, the purple crocuses I planted last year seemed to have multiplied far more than expected but look marvellous.
Quite a lot more easy weeding. Much more to go. I had warm enough clothing earlier but the cold has "got into my bones".
I was gardening yesterday when it was quite warm but a bit later on I realised OH had locked all the doors as he thought I was out when I was still in the back garden . I was in the garden for about five hours .
I could not get all the tools I needed. I could have sat in the porch or in my garden shed. But I became very cool. Then there was the issue of a comfort break. Its a good job you can usually find a utensil somewhere in a garden shed.
