Just heard from the fencing chap that he'll be here next Tuesday so while it was dry I cleared the courtyard and moved all the pots. Then we very carefully disentangled the wisteria (in full bloom of course!) from most of the wires and had to massacre a 6x6ft trellis to get it out in one piece. I've got about 4 strands across a 24ft fence/wall. The grand plan is to lower all the strands (tied together) to the ground if possible while the new fence is being erected, then put them back up. Fingers crossed.

Finished tying up the toms. Checked all new plantings. Went to GC (as we went out shopping) bought far too many bedding plants and the odd one for a hanging basket I wasn't planning on doing but hubby wanted. Watered again tonight as plants were really dry.

Few jobs in Dad’s garden today - he just paid for someone to strim and mow but they left some weeds and foliage overhanging the path 😡
Back at the ranch, we finally chopped up 2 old Xmas trees! Garden Spring work nearing an end now - the Summer is more tinkering and less graft usually.

Potted up begonias and pelargoniums into terracotta pots for the greenhouse display.
Deadheaded the roses and violas and gave them a good drink. Spent a good 10 minutes watching the bees going in and out of the foxgloves, always makes me smile.
Potted on salvias "Amethyst Lips" and tided through the coldframes,  most things seem pretty healthy.
Washed a load of pots before it got very warm and l retreated indoors.

Spent all day digging out part of the rockery. Hard work in the heat and I'm fast running out of room to put the soil. It's not much good really, mostly clay, full of roots, no worms  and bone dry at 2ft down. Haven't worked out yet how I'm going to retain the rest of the bank - hoping inspiration will strike!

Ive edged some paving with rocks,on my knees for ages,it was like a jigsaw, but it's tidied up the whole look of it,and will stop the soil washing down with the rain hopefully.
Lots of weeding done, and had to cut back a Buddlea so the birds could get to their food more easily, they are classed as weeds I believe, but under control good for butterflies!!😊😊
