Mowed the front lawn, hubby usually does it but he's working.
Still got to trim the edges.
    Watered some of the plants.

Removed lots of dead bulb leaves and weeds.  Planted a couple of new plants, a lovely sage and a large pot of freesias.  Planted out quite a few more plants from the greenhouse, mainly agastache and cosmos.  Everything is looking lush now.  May is my favourite month of the year.

Made a start on the forget-me-not pulling out.  The dry spring we've had has made them go over quicker than usual (and I have other stuff waiting to go in the spaces).
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

I tied in lots of new growth on 4 clematis, moved outside and watered my 3 pots of edibles which I'm still hardening off (2 'patio' grafted tomatoes and 1 grafted cucumber), watered wall troughs full of drooping herbs...then it rained!

Filled some gaps with red Tango pelagoniums today.  Just a dozen or so.  They are all in flower now, with plenty of buds and were given to me, so how could I refuse. Apart from that family and friends visiting, so plenty of relaxing time with them.

Had to do an emergency trim and support of a small hedge by the driveway, as it was leaning over. Just pottered this weekend so far. The veg plot is coming along nicely and my patio pots are filling out.

Heavy duty gardening today.  Removed an old Pieris, it's a plant I don't particularly like and it was already in the garden when we moved in.  It was past its best so had to go.  Removed some leggy heathers at the same time, so I now have a nice spot for a new shrub.
Hubby and I also tackled the roots of a huge pyracantha that we cut down a few weeks ago.  It's a real beast, I reckon it's been here since Queen Victoria was on the throne.  Haven't managed to remove it all yet but will hopefully have another go tomorrow.  The soil there is lovely so I can plant something beautiful up the side of the front door.
