I spent a lot of the day yesterday in the GH. Have filled the cold frames with bedding plants which let enough room to plant out my 5 GC tomato plants. Did a lot of pricking out and potting on. All my penstemon cuttings have taken and most of the pelargonium "Apple Blossom". Sowed more runner beans as they didn't germinate well, think it was too cold.
Watered the GH, cold frames, veg garden beds, pots around the house. Now it's raining.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Raining here too so no outside gardening. Went in greenhouse and tied up some tomatoes plants, and removed side shoots. Now will do a little sewing as a couple of mending jobs are still waiting, too much garden to do.🙂
Interesting you mention Runner Beans @Busy-Lizzie I have had issues this year to with "Firestorm" the first six did not germinate at all the second six sown three weeks ago just one has germinated so I sowed the last 12 in the pack a week ago and so far just three have germinated. Nothings changed same compost mix etc, indoors at home in a light bright area of a temperature controlled room 21°c
If no more germinate I will contact Suttons and see what they have to say.

Went round deadheading including geums. Pulled out bellis daisies that have gone over. Planted last of penstemons (from cuttings), armeria and poppies. The poppies were grown from seed, theory is that they don't like transplanting but they have gone in anyway ! Weather is much cooler and cloudier than recent days, could do with some rain, but soil is still pretty damp a few inches down. Lunchbreak before soil sifting (deep joy). Still haven't sorted out the peonies. @Flinster that's an impressive job you have going on there !
Good evening , morning at allotment , afternoon in garden Trimmed bush on front lawn and on at the bottoms of the garden Strimmed path on stream bank to next door , plus a few other jobs , rather pleased Hope you are all enjoying your garden
Spent the pm in the Greenhouse as it turned cool & drizzly here. Potted on a lot of seedlings that really should have been pricked on a lot sooner Ah well, they have 2 chances, as my dad always used to say "they can either grow or do the other thing!"
I like the quote from your Dad @Allotment Boy. I have taken a risk with my carrot seedlings and pricked them out and potted to a large pot. Hopefully any carrot fly won’t arrive! Tomato seedlings have had a growth spurt, at last, as I was considering abandoning them this time last week as they were very slow and I wondered if they just weren’t going to do.
Potted up last of the salvia seedlings also agastache "Sangria" and verbena bonariensis. Potted on red heleniums as they were looking a bit starved, and the foxgloves that they are scheduled to replace are only just starting to flower. Made a start on the peonies but the rootball of one was much smaller than l expected so had to post a question on the forum! They will be done first thing tomorrow 🤞
