We are slaves to the strawberry bed now - cropping has begun in earnest, so between OH and myself we are spending an at least 30 minutes picking, removing runners and weeding the bed not to mention maneuvering the dreaded net very carefully, so far so good.  Although the bed will need a good watering tomorrow morning if there is no rain.  Also spent time taking photos, feeding the tortoises and doing a bit of emergency watering on the potted plants.

Just back from allotment watered and fed plants in poly tunnel, potted up some alchemilla mollis seedlings that should of been done weeks ago, general weeding and pottering around sat in the sun enjoying the roses.

Watered hanging baskets and fed clematis. There is quite a stiff breeze which is a nuisance, some bits of my shrubby salvias have broken off. Did a bit of deadheading. Tomatoes look ready to go in hanging basket, maybe a job for tomorrow......

Emptied out the big old pot I grow salad leaves in, put new compost in and sowed the seeds, a bit later than usual. Tried tidying up generally but not getting anywhere fast. Doing a lot of thinking on redoing bits of the garden.

Removed the rest of the pyracantha root.  Still some in there but its over a ft down so should be ok.  Bought rose Wollerton Old Hall and planted it by the front door.  Fed the buxus and watered pots.  Need to do some deadheading tomorrow and feed the cannas.

Pulled up some of the wallflowers, filled 4 compost bags and hubby will take them to the recycling centre. Watered the polyanthus that were under the wallflowers.

I got my electric saw out and cut the top off an old forsythia, the trunk is quite large and it's too near a dwarf wall which it is beginning to push over. I'm worried that if I try to dig it out, I'll push the wall over, so will have to resort to SBK. I'm also considering whether to dig out some of the old rockery it's on to make room for our two green bins - decisions, decisions! Then I'll have a space for my very own little Sentry shed which is next on my list.
