Sympathies @Gardengirl..  I know just how you feel I spent most of 2018 digging out old lumps of concrete, a car wheel, old weed membrane, drinks cans I could go on  :/  I think I have got rid of most now but occasionally still find the odd piece of rubbish.

    I don't know how you cope @islander
out there in the wilds.🙂 I have gone from townie to rural in the last 3 years and am loving the peace, and bigger garden, but still like to be able to walk to a shop.🙂
@Gardengirl..  @Hampshire_Hog I have a raised, walled bed in my garden inherited from previous owner that had been slabbed over. I decided to open it back up to plant up. Out of there we got six paving slabs six inches of concrete 5 complete bags, including plastic sacks, of compost, frame of a fitness equipment and a garden reclining chair. It's only 6 foot square.🙄🤔😄
  • Far too windy to spend as much time in the garden as I would like to.  Managed to level a patch of soil for more wild flower planting in a couple of weeks if the weather calms down and warms up too.  I re-potted three pot bound Hebes and gave them a trim at the same time.

Isn't it lovely when we find a life style that is everything we want @islander, just wish I was a bit fitter to enjoy it( Mind you I'm not as bad as you) Enjoy being tucked up with the cats.🙂

Did a run to the allotment, unloaded the ten bags of compost purchased the other day, slowly and carefully not wanting to put my back out again.
Checked around for any damage all OK.

Then did a run to the local stables and picked up five bags of well rotted manure and gave the lady all my old bags, returned to allotment and put them in this years new compost heap mixed in with some cardboard also added a little accelerator to help get it going.

The sun had come out and I was really enjoying it but had to leave to come home to receive a conference call from my consultant cardiologist lasted fifteen minutes all for me to say I'm feeling fine and for him to say everything looks fine  :/  and cost me an arm and a leg I expect, no pun intended.

The tree surgeon did my gardening today! I am now well ahead on the tidying of the pruning waste as they took my garden waste away. I now have two empty builder’s bags to use for composting.
Keep your chin up @islander - maybe you can be lifted from your flare-up once the finer weather comes.
Conference call - how very modern! Glad all ok @Hampshire_Hog.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

Volunteer day at Capel Manor which has suffered quite a bit of damage 7 trees & one large magnolia down & a Eucalyptus that has to be taken down. Considering it's only about 12 miles away from where I live it just shows how much of this storm damage is down to pot luck. We have nothing here at home.

Next door has allowed their lilac to grow taller than the bungalow. As a consequence today the wind has snapped some thick limbs( half the width of a wrist) so it is laying on the roof now, we were lucky it didn't come our way and end up on the conservatory.

AR They do a lot of follow up calls via telephone or conference call from our hospital now save's on time, space, cuts down the number of people wandering around and frees up car park space (always a problem there). It's a good idea I think if I had had to go and see him would of taken a three hour round trip.

Gg Lucky around here we have quite a few stables all willing to give up manure for free some collect it others you have to dig your own from the heap but always a plentiful supply.

Will be off to allotment later work in poly tunnel at the moment its raining here and breeze.
