Just back from my first trip out in weeks, and yes to a garden centre. 😁 The two little local ones ( mind you one is part of a chain ) had no compost,  no bedding plants and no veg.🙄 Did manage to get some dianthus, two red geranium and a purple trailing thing ( name escapes me) all for my front boxes.  The rest were very big plants at big prices,  seems a waste to have them sat there unsold when they say they are desperate to make money.

    Seems a bit drastic!

I cut our long privet hedge but OH will have to do the other side as I can't reach the top
it's at a lower level than our garden. When it got a bit cooler, I deadheaded the roses (properly this time) tied in climbing plants and generally pottered. Ate dinner out on the terrace and wine was drunk. Very pleasant.

Swimming pool? Whilst the rest of us flail around for water when the hose pipe ban hits. You’ve got a cunningly camouflaged reservoir of water 🧐

Planted cannas I'm hoping for better things than last year but still to be convinced. Moved the kids play equipment to make room around the new compost area. Watered the veg and the tree ferns.

Refilled the slug traps. Very happy I found a leopard slug in the garden yesterday when I was moving rocks. Absolutely huge. OH said he looks well fed. Put him in the infested Garden Phlox patch. Never thought I would think so fondly of such a creature.
