    Thanks GWRS, will do.

Good news finished the dreaded 'by the fence weeding'. That's the only 'I have to do it even if I don't want to job' I had planned for April, the rest is all fun, potting up, getting going with the veg and building a new compost heap. Weather has been kind, things are so far going to plan this year :)

Had a few hours of pottering today - mainly clearing old foliage, emptying pots, watering seedlings and adding to compost bin. Obviously plenty of cuppas too.
My garden and I live in South Wales.
  • I was scarifying the lawn. Still not done but it was a good start. Hope to finish over the weekend. It’s a small patch of lawn but has been neglected for a while and I’m doing it with a hand scarifier. 😥

I replanted a side bed where we had dug out a large cotinus a couple of days ago. Planted my new peony 'Pecher'  in the middle and put a black metal peony support over the top. Replanted the snowdrops, hellebores, cyclamen, iris 'George' and surplus primulas in the gaps.
North East Somerset - Clay soil over limestone
  • I potted up 24 large double begonias, dug up old woody lavenders ready for new ones on order.Did a lot of weeding and feeding. It looks mainly tidy out there now. Just need to hoe the rain compacted ground.

Shifted the compost delivery. Wandered the garden with the OH and made a list and plan of attack, this will be only our 3rd summer with the garden and all this extra time should really give it a lift.

Neighbour brought a large trug tub full of pond weed and wildlife including diving beetles that they fished out of the massive pond so that went in the pond to help it get wilding

Lots of weeding. Potted on some Gaziania. Dug over the new flower bed. Dead headed some more daffodils. Enough.

Transplanted onion sets from modules, well watered in with a little urine in the water, to keep off the cats, they had found the raked bed, broke down part of the potato plot maybe plant earlies in a day or so.

Potted on Marigold Indian Prince and Agastache Indigo seedlings.  Emptied three pots and transfered the crocus and violas into the garden.  Added new  compost and planted 3 carex into the pots.  Ordered some more compost from Ashwoods, they are going to deliver in the next couple of days.
