Glad you're feeling an improvement @Fairygirl ... son is struggling with nerve damage in his shoulder at the moment ... an MRI reveals really bad damage as if it's been dislocated, but it hasn't ... but he has been sleeping in a very cramped position on the boat, plus lifting very heavy weights at work ... he's on painkillers and anti inflamms and sleeping at Wonky and her Lovely Hub's place at the moment and they say they're really enjoying having him ... he's been unable to work for three weeks but at last is back on 'light duties' ... but he needs to be able to lift stuff at work very soon ... he should start physio next week if they feel the inflammation has gone down enough ... flamin' shoulders ... they have design faults and some of our family (me/bro and now it looks like son) have shallow joints ... I get a lot of shoulder pain as you know, and brother's dislocates at the drop of a hat.

No alternative to positivity, Fairy. And the unaccustomed activity in our quiet cul-de-sac has brought the neighbours together.
Readers of the "Curmudgeon" thread will already know that we have a large hole in our bedroom wall, and a provisional completion date of next Tuesday...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Liri - you could have nicked up to your 'other' home if you'd known - facilities would have been better! Glad you're not stuck, but Tuesday is still a long way off. Not showering would bother me, but that's a first world problem eh? If I'm feeling sorry for myself at any point, I always try and remind myself that it could all be much worse. Dove - hope son is on the mend. Drag when it's affecting work too. Lifting weights certainly isn't conducive to healthy joints, and sleeping in a bad position doesn't help either I was fairly fortunate with work, and my problem is down to my own negligence, so I have no right to be p*ssed off in any way, which is what I tell myself if I get frustrated. I thought I'd maybe only dislocated the shoulder as I had so little movement, but I don't know if that would have been any better!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hello, I've been absent for a few days. Internet problems. At last France Telecom realised that our Internet has been on the blink for a while. Our phone was also out of order. No mobile signal here. Got fed up with ringing them from up the drive and went to their shop. 2 technicians arrived and have replaced the cable. They said it was really ancient and almost rusted through.
In the meantime I have been babysitting overnight for son and DIL as their smallest (1 1/2) had to be rushed to hospital in Bordeaux for a hernia operation. His operation was cancelled before as he had a fever and it suddenly got much worse and the poor little mite was in a lot of pain. But now he's home and so am I. They couldn't contact me because of the phone out of order but luckily I felt like ringing them so went up the drive where there was a mobile signal.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
😱 Lizzie - hope little one makes a swift recovery. Isn’t it funny how some Mum’s have a sixth sense. My Mum “had a funny feeling” when she was on holiday in Australia in the days before mobile phones. She persuaded my Dad that the expense of a phone call home was justified, and hence found out I was in labour .....littlest chicklet had decided to put in an appearance 6 weeks early. Remarkable 😀
Hope the gas saga is resolved as predicted Liri - at least we are having a mild spell with no eastern beasts in the forecast. Glad the doc was pleased with your progress Fairy - will be nice to get you back out on those hills come springtime.
Just been for a swim.....now pooped. Time for some gentle telly then bed 😴😴😴
Morning everyone. We’re home from Canberra, thank goodness. We’re both very tired. Nothing like home.
Hubby is a bit sore from the biopsy, but otherwise ok. He has to see the Urologost for results on 6th March, I think. I’m getting confused with all the dates, but at least they’re written on the calendar, so I can check later. I’ll try to read back later to see what you e all been up to. 😊
