Must admit, fed up with painting already FG and still 3 and a bit rooms to go after this and some tweaks in other rooms before I have to decide what to do about the stripy landing. Curtain sewing too.
Great that the room clearing is almost done. Hope Fairylet is happy with it all.
When I get a break I shall be moving some snowdrops into a new bed where they get total shade from the midday and early afternoon sun and should need less watering. Still enjoying them where they are for now tho.
Have fun in Brum Chicky. Balti for lunch?

When I moved here I was glad to have no painting/decorating to do, because I felt I'd spent a huge amount of my spare time wearing old clothes to do diy-ing and painting in various houses. I had all the garden to rejig and build though. I like it, but it becomes a chore when there's a lot to do and the end isn't in sight. I've got the girls' bedrooms to do, and there isn't much needed in their bathroom, but it's mostly been the hall and stairs which has been awkward as there's very little room for manoeuvre. Think of the money we're saving though, eh?
Think fairylet realises the difference, and it'll help her mindset. I've seen a big improvement already. It would have been too much for her to do herself as it had got way beyond a line of just untidy, and it was head in the sand situation.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
When Possum arrives her bedroom here is pristine. Withing minutes of opening her case there is stuff all over the place despite having wardrobe and drawers and so on. She's the same in her apartment in Namur tho she does now clean once a week - in theory. Recently she sent me a photo of her newly organised pants and ankle sock drawer with everything folded and arranged in colour coded rows. Says it's easier to find things. I asked if she was going OCD on me - from one extreme to the other.
Yes, saving loads and I can change my mind as I go if needs be.

I think it's easy to go from one to the other, Obs, and I reckon we all have a certain amount of it in us, but it depends on how much it impacts on our daily life. When you get to the point of checking the light switches a hundred times before you go out, and having to start again if you get interrupted, that's obviously not healthy. Perhaps she'll realise it makes life generally easier though. I'm hoping fairylet will head in that direction - she wasn't always that messy and untidy, but this has been more of a security blanket.

Hi everyone. Just watched “Bohemian Rhapsody”. I loved Freddie. So sorry it ended the way it did for him.
Fairy, thanks for asking. We’re struggling a bit, but haven’t had a full diagnosis yet. We see the specialist again next month. Hubby is sleeping a lot since the anaesthetic but he should be a bit brighter tomorrow.
Dove and Wonky, sorry to hear about Pappa Wonky. It’s such a worry.
Pat - the anaesthetic may take ages to wear off so don't worry if he stays sleepy for quite a while. Fingers crossed for your OH and papa Wonky.
FG - haven't found her counting yet but I do find the sock epiphany entertaining. I hope the clear out helps your fairylet.
I have spent my morning making blood orange and chili marmalade and an onion, home dried tomatoes and goat's cheese fritata and chili and garlic infused olive oils. Now to sort out the kitchen.

I watched "Bohemian Rhapsody" on the plane. I thought it was a good story as well. I think it glossed over his worst excesses, but I wish they had put something in on the Opera cooperation to do "Barcelona". It was one of his biggest hits, but missed out completely. I suspect it had more to do with promoting Queen songs, to top up their pension funds.
Pat. One of the things I learned about various cancers, was that if you are going to get it, Prostate is probably the one to get. People tend to live a long time with it, they die with Prostate cancers, not because of it, especially if diagnosed early and it has not spread. This is why there is a campaign on here to get men to do a regular feel and report any changes. Generally the Long term treatment is an injection every month or even three months, after initial surgery or radiotherapy.
Ive just read back about 10 pages, since I couldn’t get motivated the last couple of days. Punkdoc and Obelixx mentioned some herbs which reminded me about some seed I was given. They are Japanese Basil. I looked the name up on google, but have already forgotten it. The plants are still small, but there’s enough leaves to have a taste. Very different. I’m not sure if we’ll get used to the flavour. I might have to read up on what to eat it with.

I noticed that they missed out the opera connection, as well. I love opera.
