I've got "the day after re-training the rambler roses" , lots of tiny bits of thorns making themselves know known.
    Devon.
  • Morning all.  Hi Pat - very best wishes to you both.

A gorgeous morning again here, clear and cool.  I'm busy until 3pm but should manage an hour in the garden after that...  difficult to know what not to do because it's bound to be cold again in a bit...  but there's no excuse for not turning the compost, I think.   :)

All the very best to you and your OH, Pat.

All day in the garden for me today, so difficult to prioritise. I should probably get on with making the path I've been putting off due to not having long enough stretches to work on it, but there are so many other things to do too. And Liri, I've now added 'turning the compost'to that list! Nice problem to have.

    Ouch, Hosta.

'Electric rake thingy' sounds interesting, Dove. I assume you don't mean a full-on scarifier? My lawn is definitely the worse for last summer's drought. I'll think about that another time or the list is going to get even longer...

Good morning everyone - just.  Been busy finishing a book and then sanding a wall for painting prep and making a big bowl of coleslaw with horseradish sauce in the dressing as it's to have with smoked herring fillets - not kippers.

OH has been weeding and tidying in the veg plot and says he'll start cleaning up the new rose bed this pm.  About time.  They need planting!

Hope all goes well Pat and you have time for some distraction too.  I seem to remember Canberra having a very good market with Chinese and Vietnamese ladies selling amazing shellfish and seafood - when they weren't doing Tai Chi and the lake is lovely just to sit and rest.

Have a lovely sunny day everyone.

    Absolutely stunning day.
Who would imagine I could be gardening in February in a tee shirt?

Its a Titan and has interchangeable ‘heads’ ... a roller with long metal tines for removing moss and thatch and that’s what we used today.
It also has a scarifying roller with lots of ‘blades’ around it for cutting into the turf to aerate and improve drainage.

OH has finished ... a wheelie in full of moss has been removed ... he was amazed.

He deserves a good lunch 😊

  • It’s the remains of yesterday’s chicken and leek pie with a dollop of cauliflower cheese @punkdoc ... form an orderly queue  ;)
