Host? It seems the spell checker got you again.🤗

  • Oh flippin 'eck ... 'cost' not 'host'.   Duh!

Just checked the insurance policy and realised we decided that we didn't need accidental damage insurance ... that's a relief really ... it'll be a lot simpler just to get the job done without having to get additional quotes etc (plumbers being in such short supply) and they'd only put the premium up next year anyway.  OH always says that most insurance is legalised extortion. ;)

    Hi all.
    Cold and sunny here.
Moira decided it was time to venture out, for the first time since her operation, so I drove her into the village, she wanted to shop for veg., I am not trusted to do that.
She managed well, so I now have to tie her down [ naughty Hosta, I see where your mind is going ], to stop her doing anything else today.
Settling in for an afternoon of rugby on the TV.

She is a fan too, although like all you gals, she will watch, read, play on the computer, all at the same time [ she calls it multi tasking ], whist i can only do one thing, 2 I suppose, if you count drinking whilst watching the game.

Lovely sunny day here but a bit blowy and clouds coming in from all directions.   The ground is sodden so no gardening.  Possum and I will head out later and do photos of the beach and waves.   OH will be glued to rugby.

Pat - Weather extremes are all part of global warming.   Hotter, wetter, colder, drier will become the norm.

Pdoc - glad Moira is up and about and feeling better.   Good outcome.  Just needs to be sensible about exertion now.

Dove - PITA.   Hope you can get it fixed soon.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Hello all. Glad Moira is feeling better.

Had a chat on the phone with friends in the village this morning. Decided we'd go out to lunch with them so we went to the Italian place near the Wok place. It was nice, I had veal in a creamy Marsala and mushroom sauce with veg. OH had smoked salmon pizza with salad.

After that we went to the Grand Frais to buy more veg and they had Seville oranges so now I am making marmalade. Easy method, they are simmering whole for 2 hours at the moment then, tomorrow when they are cold, I'll scoop out the middles and Magimix the skins before adding the sugar.

I also had a chat with daughter 2 (the one who is also called Possum!). She was worried because they had booked a skiing holiday with Son2 and family the end of this month but she didn't know it would be a week or 2 before her baby is due when they booked it. Her husband is taking the 2 children for 4 days as they were looking forward to it but D2 is staying at home. She's nervous to be on her own in case the baby comes so I will go and stay with her. Only thing is one of the days is OH's birthday, the 25th. We'll have his birthday early this year, I'll book a restaurant in town.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
