Bit harsh LP I don't want a fear of places or roads to restrict where she can go and what she can do. I know people who simply won't go to certain places because they're frightened of the road or parking etc. Driving gives you such freedom, and I want her to be able to enjoy that freedom and have enough experience to cope with it well. I love driving the L. Lomond road, but I often wonder how more people aren't killed on it when I see the shocking driving sometimes. I'll break her in gently - we'll go west through Arrochar. I won't take her on the worst bit up to Crianlarich for a while, or along any glens steephill - we always holidayed up north as children, and I'm sure there must have been a long line of irate motorists behind us. My dad was a very 'careful' driver, to the point of snail's pace. It's only since I became a driver that I realise it! Mutual support doc - that's why Moira's going
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Great news, Steephill. Welcome to the rest of your life
Hope the birthday steak went down a treat with Mr Wonky!
I learnt to drive in the Pennines. Hill starts on the 1 in 4 at the end of the road meant I've always been ok with those... and driving in snow. Not so keen on driving in towns I don't know, though - the Satnav, which I normally avoid like the plague, is great for that. Not driven the Loch Lomond road for some time. I remember it as full of lorries and caravans, and insane drivers wanting to overtake on bends...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
@Lyn whereas I learned to drive in Cornwall - no motorways in the County. It all came as a bit of a shock when I got my first car and a job in Bristol
I have driven up by Loch Lomond. It doesn't stand out in my memory as particularly bad. But then I have driven in Portugal, so perhaps my senses are a little numb
Lovely news Steephill.

Morning all, afternoon Pat, Wonderful news about your results Steephill 😊 Glad your well rested Hosta 😁 Fairy, Dove is bringing cake tomorrow! I'm making quiche, I'm sure we will save you some! 😉 Lirio the steak dinner was a blinking fine one thank you! Also made a door mat sized moussaka for devouring over the next few days... One of my brother's favourites and he's visiting with us at the moment so I'm not expecting it to last long! Lots of bits and bobs to get on with, hope everyone has a good day 😊
As a lad, I drove from San Francisco to New York. In the Mid West you could drive for 24 hours without seeing another car, very strange. Arriving in New York was another matter.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Sometimes I just feel like giving up. Hospital appt. cancelled, luckily found out before I left. Out on the drive with a barrow of leaves, meet NDN, who wants part of Yew tree removed. As far as I can see. it does not affect him at all. Anyway, it looks like I might have to chain myself to the tree [ shame it isn't summer ] I am so mad, I am really having to fight to control myself. Sorry to offload, but thought it might help me.

Sounds to me like you need a restraining order Pdoc.
Congrats Steephill. Well done Wonky. Used to love moussaka but no canna thole aubergines.
What a PITA BL. Hope you get fixed up again soon.
Thanks Chicky. Possum home safely despite 60cms of snow in Brussels over the weekend. They'd had time to clear the runways and rail tracks by the time she landed so no bovver getting to Namur.
Grey and misty and just bleugh today. I woke up before OH and he actually thought I might go down and let out the dogs. No chance, said I, it's bloody cold cos there's no heating. He got up and lit a fire. Toasty now, in the living room. Oil delivery due this pm. We'll see.
