I know very little about cypress, Dove, although I have some. I just let them get on with it.

Had a house viewing this morning and another one now. Both English people.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Fingers crossed, Lizzie.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Feeling a bit sad today. Just found out that one of the climbers who died last week was Andy Nisbet, a guy who I was lucky enough to have done a couple of winter routes with, when I was just learning winter climbing.
Can't say I knew him well, but he was a seriously ace human being.
How can you lie there and think of England

At least he died doing something he loved PD if that's some small comfort to you.

It's very sad indeed doc. He was highly revered, as was his companion Steve Perry. It highlights how easy it is to have an accident, no matter how skilled and experienced you are. They were looking at securing new winter routes and had already summitted.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

That's sad, Punkdoc, always sad when someone dies too young.

No luck with the viewings. Not sure why they came, first couple wanted 4 huge bedrooms, I have 3 big ones and 4 smaller ones, second chap wanted somewhere for commercial use, small hotel, weddings. Said too much work and didn't care for the 1km unmade up drive, not mine, belongs to the village. But what there is here is all in the photos and description. This is a large family home, an old farmhouse.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Sad news @punkdoc ... Better luck next time @Busy-Lizzie ... Slightly squiffly due to too much very good Muscadet washing down the big bowl of Brancaster mussels ... have put the Aran knitting to one side 😊

Sad news Pdoc but I expect part of the appeal is the danger and that sometimes has unfortunate consequences.   As Lizzie says, at least he was doing what he loved.

BL - sounds like time-wasted for you but at least you know there are people out there hunting.    Someone will turn up sooner or later.

Dove - very wise.  Don't want to be unpicking errant Arran!

Our internet has been off completely for 40 hours and intermittent this pm.  For some reason, it took out the mobile phone signal too.    They're laying fibre optics all over France and it's currently being laid, and connected, in our village tho not near us.  No warning, just no service and a grumpy git when OH phoned to report a fault.  However, things do seem marginally faster now altho we're some way out and not yet FO'd.

Dance class this evening and more samba, cha-cha and jive this time.  Full aerobic workout.   Home to put chocolate ganache and banana chips on a chocolate banana cake for tomorrow.  Going to a school in La Roche to meet with their catering and teaching staff to discuss recipes for an English brunch to be cooked and served in English by students.    I've done a marmalade and almond loaf too.   No idea what they think goes in an English brunch but there'll have to be savoury stuff too.
