Liri - Oil is here.  Arrived at 5:20.  CH not working.   Surprise surprise.  I've told OH we'll have to see if it works its way thru this evening and, if not, call the CH doctors to sort it out.    Meanwhile, the log fire is quite jolly.

I hope the log fire keeps you warm enough, Obelixx.

I'm glad Steephill's results were good.

We had to go to the village to borrow a friend's Internet this afternoon. OH had to print out his boarding pass for Ryan Air, he's visiting his daughter. I had emails to deal with. No phone here either. But it seems to be working now. Maybe the rain has drained out of the box thingy. I told the log man that I'm not paying him for the strimming until I know whether France Telecom is going to bill me for the repairs.

    Evening all.
Got up this morning, went to brush hair up in a ponytail and... arrghh!! muscle spasm in neck/back! Agony for about two hours as couldn’t move much without swearing - had deep heat rub, anti-inflammatory and hot shower and it settled to a stiff neck type discomfort but it’s just coming back online now so will repeat the treatments.
    Great news @steephill
Hope that heating can be remedied @Obelixx.
I hope tomorrow will be a better day for you @punkdoc.
I hope the rest of the gang ok.

  • Obelixx - oops...  glad you've got the log fire to keep you warm...

Lizzie, what a pain!  Hope the Internet carries on working now.  Well done for making a stand on payment to the strimming wally...

Good move BL.   Let's hope it stays fixed and chappy has learned his lesson.

We've booked a Ryanair ticket for Possum to meet me in Toulouse at the beginning of her Easter hols.  25€ for the ticket.  40€ for her suitcase.  That girl needs to learn to travel light!  I hate Ryanair but the SN Airlines flight was double that.

AR - that doesn't sound good.  I hope things have eased now.

OH has been googling our system and has discovered it has an ignition button.  Our Belgian system did too but he never bothered learning about that and left it all to me so I've left him to sort out this one.   CH now working.

@Obelixx it's good, of course, that the heating is working. Although it would perhaps have made more impact on your OH had the plumber come out and said 'well you need to switch it on' [click] and then left with a gallic shrug.

@punkdoc he's clearly having fun baiting you. I feel he needs an interest. Have you considered signing him up for some newsletters and magazines? Hot Dip Galvanising is one of my favourites. Or Concrete Monthly. I'm sure you know a few niche medical publications that are free and that he might enjoy reading?

Adding a hot dip galvanising subscription to my Christmas list .....I know its only February, but I find it pays to start early 😉

Its littlest chicklet’s birthday, so I’m off to Birmingham for the day 🚂🚂🚂.  Taking her out for lunch and spending the aftternoon, then heading back this evening.  Plenty of reading to keep me occupied on the train......and really really looking forward to seeing my little girl.  As of tomorrow I will no longer be the mother of teenagers 😵
