    Morning all.
Why did I agree to overtime this morning when I've got a pergola covered in roses to deal with and grass to cut?
Hey ho. I'm just doing the shortest delivery so might well be home by 1 .

I ought to cut down some of the leaves around the hellebores.
Hubby caught a cold on the plane. I think that I now have it.  So much for wiping down everything in the immediate vicinity on a plane with Dettol wipes. Maybe I ought to go in for the Japanese method of wearing face masks when in close proximity to strangers and their assorted germs.
  • Good morning all  :) ☕️

I think I’ve mentioned OH’s theory about air travel/public transport and colds before  😷  Hè dienst go om a bus without using First Defence ... hope Hubby keeps it to himself and gets well soon @Obelixx

For the past few days Ive had an urge to make a Lemon Polenta Cake ... i think today is the day ...

Morning! Lovely and sunny out so the washing is on. Will do some some house and garden jobs until it’s time to settle down for the rugby 🏉
    Have a smashing weekend all.
My garden and I live in South Wales.
  • Fog here again ... not thick but damp mizzly stuff. Not tempted to go out there ... definitely a baking morning. Son said the fog down in Suffolk yesterday evening was some of the thickest he’d seen.

Morning all. Off to help lay slabs for a path in the museum garden - wish my back good luck! Really want to get into my garden but also don't want them to be short of volunteers. Might give the lawn its first cut this afternoon.

Enjoy seeing washing on the line, AuntyRach - always a treat at this time of year. And I hope you have a short shift, Hosta. Fingers crossed that the gas saga is reaching its conclusion, Liri. Have a good day all.

Brilliant sunshine today and we got up to 19.6C yesterday so more warmth expected today.   I'm about to do the bedroom door and its frame before lunch then start taping skirting boards for the walls which are currently these colours which work so well in an east facing room............

I shall make sure I have a potter outside and get some sun later.

Hope the colds don't develop into anything nasty Fidget.   Planes are notorious for swapping bugs.

Go easy LG.  You need your back for your own garden.

Enjoy the rugby - anyone who's watching it that is.   Not me.   I don't even care about the results any more tho I used to be a big fan and go and see England play at Twickers.

Started off lovely here, full sun, now a bit dreary, still cold! OH asked for a job this morning, he’s just cut all the hardy fuchsias down to the ground for me, bless😇

    Morning all.
We've been to the tip with the trailer full of rubbish from the garage where stuff gets plonked.

Bread machine on the go. About to make a chicken and leek pie for OH while I am staying with daughter.
Then must dig up the snowdrops that have seeded themselves behind the wall where I put the garden rubbish and the garden side compost bins. Several clumps there that I didn't plant. Shall give some to daughter.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • The mizzly greyness disappeared and the sun came out ... OH hung out the washing, filled the birdfeeders, cleared drains, and removed a self-sown flowering currant that was in entirely the wrong place. We’d left it alone because we’d admired its determination and enterprising spirit, but it was way too close to the pond and the flowers were not fantastic. I might get a named variety to put elsewhere 🤔

I’ve baked a lemon polenta cake and a loaf of bread and cut back the buddleja and some other stuff in sheltered spots ... as we’re in a frost pocket I don’t want to cut other herbaceous stuff back until March ... I’m sure we’ve still got some frosts to come.

Jugged kippers for lunch ... 😋
