    Morning all.
Coal face duties again to day. That's 2 consecutive days!!! Not used to this.
The geese were awake at 5.55am so I'm up stupidly early.
    Devon.
  • Good morning all  :) ☕️
Very clear overnight with bright starlight when we went to bed ... a touch of frost first thing but it’s already disappeared and it looks as if we have a day of clear blue sky ahead.  :)

    Morning @Dovefromabove.
We've got 3 days of 16c and "sunny" forecast. Hurrah for that.
    Devon.
  • Morning @Hostafan1

We have a similar forecast ... but tonight looks as it it’ll be chilly 🥶

Quite a hard frost here .....and its still hanging around.  Birds on the feeders have forgotten their manners.  No more quiet queueing, instead its plenty of dive bombing and bared teeth (😉)......guess its that time of year when nobody wants to share 😳

Up early (for a Sunday) as I am off to Bham for the day.  Nice lunch and a visit to the botanic gardens on the cards, plus a good old chinwag with littlest chicklet.

    Hi all.
Wall to wall sunshine again, I could get used to this.
Have had a busy week in the garden, aided and abetted by Moira, who seems to be getting into her role as under gardener and slave.
We had a lovely weekend away at Moor Hall, Aughton. It is a recently restored Tudor hall, which now manages to be both stunningly modern and historic.
Food was possibly the best I have eaten. Stand out dish, probably beef tartare, with barbecued celeriac and mustard.
They have also restored the walled garden and I accosted the gardener, a lovely young girl in her first head gardener role and had a great tour. They must have had about 100 trays of micro herbs under lights in the greenhouse. Who knew that the seed leaves of Borage taste of cucumber?

That's why the flowers and sometimes leaves too get put in a Pimms!

Glad you both enjoyed the weekend.   I'd really like to see the gardens at Le Manoir but it'll have to wait while.  No UK trips on the cards for some time.

Sunshine here too today so a stroll and a ponder outside and then more painting prep.

Morning all/afties, evening Pat if you're there. How are you both doing?
The chillier, sunny start has disappeared and it's just murky and cloudy now. Dry though. Another bright day yesterday but still windy, and I got a little bit done outside before the rain came on. Some snowdrops lifted from a bed where they don't get seen very well, so I'll find somewhere better for them. A couple of little seedlings from the clump too.
Have a good day chicky, and hope work isn't too hideous Hosta.
Wonder if Liri is connected up yet? She may have put it on the other thread so I'll have a look. I'm struggling to keep up with all those new threads!
More painting for me too, Obelixx. I'm aiming to get most of it done over the next few weeks so that I can get sone fitness reinstated and get out on hills in spring.
The room clearing/cleaning is in the final stretch thankfully. Car is full of bags for the tip, some junk, some recycling.  :o
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Make the most of it, we’ve got rain forecast from Thursday to the following Tuesday, that’s as far as my weather app goes.   Highest temps today until Thursday will be about 13c here, then it’s cold and rain.
