  • Good morning all  :) ☕️
As you say @islander , an understanding GP practice is important. Hope your health ‘settles’ in your new home.  :)
Today looks fine and dry so far ...

  • That’s that’s a real shame Islander. With good support Wonky has made an almost total recovery ... but all bodies and circumstances are different.

    Second ☕️ has arrived 😊

Morning. Good visit to vet yesterday but new exercises which madam definitely doesn’t like! The two little grand daughters arrive today to get outfoxed London during half term. I am going to have to tie the crate as they wil not understand why it’s required. Grey here today, very low cloud but weirdly warm! Have a good day🤞

  • Glad the vet is happy with progress @Lily Pilly 😊
Good luck with the little visitors ... my guess is that it’ll be great fun but tiring 😉

Morning all, hi to Pat and hubby, and hope it's all going ok.
Thinking of you, islander. It's miserable when you have something which can't simply be sorted by some meds or an op. Enjoy the good days as such as you can, and use the forum for some laughs, distraction or a rant on the bad days.  :)
Murky sort of day here, but weirdly mild, as LP says. Rain's disappeared for now. Daffs are getting to a good size now, so perhaps a few buds might appear soon.
Good result at the hospital yesterday - consultant was very impressed at my recovery - I'm in the '85 to 90% recovered' position, so more physio is the way forward. He was a bit annoyed at the gap between the stop in physio last summer, and seeing him, but such is life.
More tea needed here, so I'll have a look round while I have that.

  • Sorry to hear you have been let down Islander. My neighbour told me her son had ME in his teens and she's convinced a rescue dog they had saved him. They cuddled up together and the dog understood him more than humans. He' s now a university lecturer at Sheffield.
  • Morning all!

Sympathy to you, @islander - a miserable condition.  My sister had it 20 years ago, but is almost completely recovered now - she just needs to make sure she gets enough rest.

Great news, @Fairygirl!  I wonder if painting is good physiotherapy??  Hope so...   ;)

Enjoy your day, @Lily Pilly.  So glad Talla is improving.

Strange but good news from daughter and SIL.  Six months ago they bought an ex-demo electric car (in Ireland, where the enlightened government provides free charging points in the station car park).  The dealership they got it from has rung them.  Would they like to trade it in for the new version, just out, with twice the battery range?  0% finance, and they could trade in the "old" car for 30% MORE than they paid for it.  An unusual way of making money, but a bit of a no-brainer...  apparently the demand for 2nd-hand electric cars vastly exceeds the supply at the moment, hence the deal.   :)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • I'm feeling very virtuous ... I've sorted out new fixed power tariffs for the next two years and ordered a new shredder so that I can 'file' the mountain of paperwork that has been lurking in the study o:)

Now for a coffee and then I'll make a cauliflower cheese for tonight's supper :)

Good news FG, Liri and LP.  Great stuff.   May physio and new cars do all you hope.  Judging by radio ads, the French govt also helps people buy electric cars but our two diesels are still in very good nick and fuel efficient and won't fetch a good trade in now the world is anti-diesel.

It is so foggy here today I couldn't see the lights in the neighbour's cow barns this morning when I got up at 7am.   Not much better now we have daylight.   More lovely painting for me and not for physio!   Feels like the Forth bridge at the mo.  Never ending.

Can't imagine living with ME but I've had glandular fever a few times and that's ghastly enough.  Hope you continue to find ways to cope Islander.   Good neighbours help and no doubt the cats too.

Chin up for the gas saga Liri.  Nightmare.

Scouting around for new utilities here too Dove. I've been with a small company Octopus for the last year, and they've been excellent, but too dear for the new tariff. Haven't quite made up  my mind yet. This winter has been very benign compared to the usual too, so that will distort the figures a bit. They'll owe me money by the end of April so it's not all bad  ;)
Liri - that's a helluva carry on you're having. Hope you're managing - I'm sure you are. You're very resourceful  ;) Great deal on that car - nice to hear about positive stuff happening.
I think the decorating is helping - I'm doing it more easily than when I did my bedroom over Christmas. I was reminded when hanging washing out the other day, that it's not too long ago when I needed to stand on the bench because I couldn't lift my arm up to put the pegs on!  :D
