I can't offer much in terms of colour in my garden, which is still in permanent shade... we have snowdrops and a few crocuses, and this Hamamelis:
It's Arnold Promise. I love the flowers but don't like the scent... however, the Sarcococca ruscifolia makes up for it, and is currently filling the garden with perfume.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Shady bank looking glorious @Dovefromabove. @Yviestevie your garden looks fantastic even at this time of year 😆😍. Great photo of the witch hazel @Liriodendron..... I find it very difficult to smell them unless I’m right up close and breathe on the flowers ....must be my nose 🤥
Like you, Liri - most of my garden is still quite shady most of the time, but I got out on Friday/Saturday and took some pix. Your witch hazel is stunning Dove - that's really beautiful. I can't quite compete, but I have some hellebore/snowdrop combos which are looking quite good, now that the snowdrops are opening up
How is the pond doing Yvie? It's looking well established now. Lovely photos. Are your camellias always this early? At least another month here to see them in flower. I love them, but gave up on them as they so often get such a battering from the weather when they're in flower, so the pleasure is fleeting. I do have a corner which would be ideal though....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Can't compete with your show of snowdrops, @Dovefromabove I have a grand total of 6 flowers this year (small clump given by neighbour planted last Spring).
That's a very neat garden, @Yviestevie , must take quite some time to keep those borders so well-cut, congratulations! Personally I've given up on curves and my borders are all in a straight line; I leave it to the plants to soften the lines with their own curves.
Hi folks, thanks for your kind comments, the garden just developed from a very bare garden. The curves came about due to my never ending need for more planting space. I've never been a 'straight line' kind of gal. The pond is doing really well, lots of growth and visiting wildlife, I'm hoping for more frogspawn this year. The camelias are normally getting into action at this time of the year. This particular one is the earliest to flower.
Still no frogspawn but I did see a couple of newts in the pond. Instead I took a few pictures of our limited range of late winter flowers - snowdrops, hellebores and primroses

The little wilderness is looking wonderful this morning
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
