I moved mine last year and wasn't sure if it would flower this year or not so it was a nice surprise. It is a much smaller plant than before as it had gotten huge and was in the wrong place.
You could be right @HouseFinch, I've just been out and checked and the ones I can see have different colour stalks. I'm pretty sure I would have planted my reds, Lucifer (and a related name, maybe Hell Fire or something) at the back of the border as they are tallest, but I mixed those two up a while ago. I can't see the bases on them. I think the worst that will happen is they will all flower at different times. And at the wrong height, probably😉
Love this thread, thanks for taking the time to post folks. Here are some taken yesterday.
Jackmanii is climbing to dizzy heights this year.
Dahlia Mambo always puts on a good show.
Sidalcea's were rubbish this year, but looking good this summer.
Liking this side of the pond this year, the dierama has flowered well. I dug up the lighter coloured hosta last year because I was sick of the slug damage. Must have missed a bit, it's come back bigger and better than ever this year.
I’m really enjoying this thread, many lovely gardens and interesting plant combinations that have given me ideas for my garden.
The Lavender hedge under my window, flowers nearly gone over now. Lysimachia Beaujolais and Physostegia ( obedient plant) grown from seed 2 years ago.
Achillea Walther Funke and Kniphofia Timothy which stays shorter and more compact than some. Crocosmia Paul’s best Yellow
Heleniums and Agastache
Drumstick alliums which are usually covered in bees, not so many this year.
Weigela florida, Wings of Fire, the leaves just starting to turn red and is stunning in the autumn, only had a few flowers on it once and they were a bit boring compared to the foliage later on.
Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.
