Hope the chicken soup does the trick @Hostafan1 ... I know what my OH will say if I tell him you’ve got a lurgy ... “well, he will go on aeroplanes” 🙄

Hope you feel better soon Hosta. You'd think airlines would come up with some system to sterilise the air before its recirculated.

Thy used to bring it in from outside, of course, which meant fewer germs passing around but it used more fuel. So then smoking was banned and the airlines saved some money by recirculating the air and letting everyone share their germs.
I've just spent 5 hours on a train and will quite probably get a cold - usually do - for the same reason. Without having had the pay off of a few weeks in the sunshine.

OH doesn’t go on public transport without priming his nasal orifices with Vick’s First Defence 👍

Does it work, Dove?  I haven't used First Defence because I read it could damage your sense of smell (if I remember correctly, because it contains zinc), but I know several Forkers have reported using it.

Sorry - hello all!  :)   Today got busy and I didn't get a look in here until just now.

He very rarely gets a cold ... but then neither do I and I don’t use it ... however he’s in touch with the public more than I am ....  :/

I don't get colds either. I think when we reach 27weve been in contact with most germs and become immune.
Going back to the quality of aircraft air, some aircrew have health problems associated with air being contaminated with fumes from oil in the aircraft.
