Good morning all  :) I was woken a while ago by the gritter lorry. It’s usually very quiet here ... I looked out and saw it’s been snowing ... brrr! ❄️
OH is still asleep 😴 so I’ve made myself a ☕️ and listened to David Attenborough on Tweet of the Day ... what a strange sounding bird is the Australian Magpie ... do you have them around your way @Pat E ?

Must be really hard for you LilyP -  I’m sure your daughter really appreciates your support.  Just having someone to talk to who understands will be a really big thing for her.

Thankfully the predicted snow didn’t arrive here, so its off to work I go 🚗🚗🚗

    Morning all/afties,evening Pat.
Glad you had a fruitful trip LP, even if it wasn't 'good' as such. Very difficult for you.
Bit more sprinkling of snow here, but it's been no higher than zero all night too, so not sure how much the guys can do today again. Be careful, anyone who's driving today and tomorrow. I'm sure no one here's as stupid as that twut in the link I posted last night.

The wee blackies were all in getting some grub. That female's getting right on my wick!
I shall need more tea to contemplate my day's doings. More painting I think. I'm fed up repainting doors - far too many of them for such a wee hoose!

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Hooray. I’m in. We’ve had huge thunderstorms, lightning, large hail that sounded like a machine gun, etc. no power on and off since 3am this morning. The power was reconnected and now another storm has hit again. No power in the house (nor the village) but my Christmas present iPad works without Hubby’s computer being on. Isn’t that clever.

Havent read back, but will try now.

The view from here is rather bleak this morning. I was also in London yesterday, 5am start, 8pm home, working intensively in the middle, always leaves me pretty whacked.

I'm almost ( but not quite ) speechless at the total shambles of our MPs and Brexit.
...feels like we're going in ever decreasing circles round the plug hole.

It's my birthday and the 7th anniversary of Mum's death. Still miss her.

And this is the view from the window this morning

    All rather depressing  :/

I'd better get on with one of those cakes

    Morning all.
@raisingirl , Happy Birthday. Our view is very similar, and , looking at the sky, I reckon there's more of the white stuff to fall.
Went back to bed last night after sitting for 2 hours and promptly had to jump back up as I was having a nose bleed, eeww. Feeling decidedly rubbish , sore throat, cough and blocked up nose.

I’ve read everything now. Glad to catch up.

Dove we ‘sure do’ have magpies. I can even make the sound of the young ones calling Mum. 😁

8pm and still no power, so no TV. The temp has been very high again today, and everyone I spoke to in town were complaining. It’s very still now and about 25, so bearable. I suspect we are in for another hot night.

It's not just our Cabinet falling apart, the whole flippin' lot is in disarray.
