    Hi all.
First snow of the year over night, although only a sprinkling. Very cold.
OH away overnight as part of a 2 day interview, then we have to prepare for her operation next week.
Nanny B, an acoustic neuroma would not be first on the list, but would have to be considered. Although it is a tumour, it is not really like a brain tumour, it does not spread anywhere else.

Hello the rest of you :)
    Good luck @Nanny B :)
Love a bit of Suzanne Vega @punkdoc
In Superdrug the other day the sales assistant stopped and listened to the music and said 'What's that ... they keep playing it ... why don't I know what it is?'  I told her what it was and explained that it was from the early 80s ... well before she was born ... she said 'But you know it?!'  I had to explain that I was even older than that ... she looked incredulous    ... even her mum's not that old! :oB)

I've been out there and put out some food for the ground feeders and cut some Swiss chard and sage for our supper ... (roasted squash and sage risotto with chard).  For the first time I've got the chard under a plastic mini tunnel ... no difference in cropping so far, but if we get a real cold spell I might get a few more pickings than I would without the protection.

    Morning all.
I'm sorry about your OH, Pat, men's problems seem to be getting so common now. I hope the MRI scan is OK.

Nanny B, at least an acoustic neuroma is benign, non spreading. Hugs.

Bit warmer this morning +3°, has rained.

We are off to Norfolk in a couple of hours. Hiring a car at the airport. We'll stop at Sainsbugs on the way for supplies for tomorrow and go to a local pub for dinner while the cottage warms up. May buy hot water bottles in Sainsbugs, if they have any.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Morning all - bright sunshine here!
Sorry to read of the medical woes from you Pat and Nanny B. Try not to over-worry until you have all the diagnoses and information, and keep positive.
Going to inspect all the new fencing now - the front is really smart but the back is a bit different to what I was expecting as it’s high quality wood but is not solid so I hope the privacy is not compromised too much. (She says thinking about which climbing plants would look good)...

My garden and I live in South Wales.

    Morning all.

Hope the fence bears closer inspection, AuntyR!

Bright sunshine here too - that didn't look likely in the drizzle earlier. According to the weather station it's 2° outside, so I'll be wrapping up warm. The house is noticeably warmer since making the improved door sausage.

Sorry to hear about people's health worries. But glad there are diagnoses and therefore treatment / management.

And I meant to say before - glad Possum's leg turned out OK in the end, Obxx. That must have been quite scary. My OH fell down some stairs carrying Bow as a baby too - you've made me realise what a different outcome there could have been.

I've spent an inordinate amount of time sorting and printing photos for a local 'talents festival'. Every two years I overcommit, every two years I say 'never again', every two years I do it again ;). Quite pleased with my photos in the 'Natural World' class though... close ups of plants, of course. Bow and Trill will be doing the music classes, obvs. OH steers well clear.

Safe journey, BL. Now I need to pop out for some double sided tape to finish the job. Scarf and hat needed today!

    @Pat E
Not sure I can give any advice re your husband, other than to say, every man over the age of 50 has prostate problems, it is just that many of us don't know it yet.
    Hope it all gets sorted.

I am well down the rabbit hole now, had an MRI scan on Tuesday, pre-op assessment today for biopsy next week. I only went to the doc with a bad leg and now all my internal organs are under scrutiny! The MRI scan was like a weird Philip Glass/Steve Reich concert with all the strange repetitive bangs and thumps.

Got back from that to find I have an appointment for an ultrasound scan for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) which unfortunately conflicts with a follow-up on my current issues. I have rescheduled that though as an AAA killed an uncle so I can't ignore it. I think of these checks as being one of the joys of being over 27. Infinitely better to find these things out sooner rather than later.

Seems to me the wide and varied range of ailments on here is as great as our plants and gardens.   I hope everyone gets the diagnostics and treatment they need for successful outcomes.

Dove - I tend to remember dates of events by linking the music that was around then.   I knew a girl at college who did all her revising to the Beach boys so she could recall facts by singing the songs to herself.   Worked for her.

It's freezing out there today but sunny and I have had a long lie-in reading after a disturbed night - snoring and a mouse.  Off to do a few raids in La Roche now - fleece for another top for Possum then the sales looking for a new coat and maybe some shoes I can wear with a dress, groceries...........

Keep warm everyone.  Hope you don't get any more power cuts Pat.
