@Lily Pilly the young lady in the room next door decided to have a very , VERY loud phone chat last night at midnight. It was so loud, not only did it wake us both, but I could hear the voice of the guy to whom she was speaking. Gone are the days when one held a phone to one's ear and spoke discretely. Well done @Fairygirl
@Hostafan1 when we lived in a terrace we knew much more than we wished to about the intimate lives of the students next door, all due to their late night phone chats OMG !!! ...

The blue tits are tucking into a Tesco Christmas pudding that I found in the back of the larder. When my brother gave it to me last year it was already well past it's sell by date so it got thrust to the back of the shelf. I've boiled it up and opened it, very black but smells fine and it's full of dried fruit.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning all. It's sunny here and I'm determind to get out in the garden today. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak...
Congratulations FG, that's so soon! For some reason I thought it would be a more long drawn out process. Definitely sounds like you're doing the right thing. How exciting!
I am proud, Liri. A bit in awe, to be honest, as the music world is entirely strange and mostly wonderful to me. Chicky, yes, she was on the Barbican Hall stage, but it's not the first time - this orchestra does three Barbican concerts a year and this is her second year, so the first was last January, playing The Planets. I did nearly go pop at that one ;-).
Afternoon, Pat. You sound so much happier now the weather has cooled a bit and you have some rain. Long may it last!
LilyP you have my sympathies with labyrinthitis. I have BPPV (tho haven't had an attack in absolutely ages) and the symptoms are similar. Not nice at all. I hope it goes away very soon.
And BL, I realised last night I'd got the wrong end of the stick about the film you want to see. I read 'Queen' and my mind immediately leapt to The Favourite, probably because I keep hearing people raving about it. I realise now that's not the film you mean.
Hmmm. I think I've posted more in the past 24 hours than in the past 24 days. It's feast or famine - I promise to shut up a bit soon

Hey everyone - good to hear from you all. Noise and mess outside today as neighbour is having new fences at the front (benefits us) but what I didn’t realise is that she is also having the 20M hedge at the back removed and fencing instead. I like having the green hedge but it is officially her side and she wants to dog-proof the garden. Fair enough - we have plenty of shrubs our side and now there will be potential for climbing plants. It’s a big operation - there are half a dozen workers out there so glad not on brew duty!
Fairy, Well Done! Do you feel good? Hope you get a lovely “exit” party (I think they are called that nowadays) every best wish for your new life
Hosta, thank goodness you saw them go! As long as that was her case? Aunty Rach, Liro, and everyone else who has wished magic on my ears thank you! I drove the straight line up to the SM and back without incident so I am improving if the eyes would just do the same. The stinging just goes on and on

Morning all.
Crikey, Fairygirl, that was quick! Well done.
Well done to Bow too.
Grey today, rain is forecast.

Back from Ireland, where as usual we had a lovely but exhausting time with the granddaughters... and I've caught up on this thread. Phew!
Congrats to Bow, @LG_ - you must be so proud of your talented daughters.
Late congrats to @Fairygirl - your new life starts in a month!
Hope you're still getting sunshine, @Hostafan1, and the neighbours quieten down a bit.
@Lily Pilly - labyrinthitis is a PITA. Hope it lets go soon.
I think Christmas puddings last for ever, BL... glad the birds are appreciating your old one!
