Hi all. Stressful day. Neighbour took me to court for unpaid bills. These bills are for work on land he claims is his, the drive [ which is his ] and various other things. Mostly this work has not been done, and where it has it is usually work that is not my responsibility. The tone of the letters accompanying bills has become more and more threatening over the last two years. Anyway, today it was agreed that he cannot continue to send me this type of demand, as we have no agreed arrangement in place. We have managed for 20 years before he moved in, to sort maintenance amicably. It is a small victory, in what sadly is going to be a long war, and he has unlimited money to throw at it. Sadly because there is a legal dispute, he has effectively prevented me from selling the house, as a potential way out of the problem.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Oh Punkdoc. Not a very good situation for you and Moira. Sending relaxing thoughts to you both. We’ve a sunny, hot day here, but storms predicted for later in the day. More lightning no doubt. 😡 Lovely photo Lilyp. We never walk down by the river anymore. It’s very overgrown and it’s snake season.
How horrible Pdoc 😫. We once had neighbour problems (noise and general unpleasantness) and it can blight your life if you let it. A decade later I still have dreams where they appear. Glad the court was sensible yesterday, and hope he now calms down.
Lovely picture LilyP .......such a blue sky, and amazing lightning strike Pat ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Had a great day yesterday ......got my 10k steps in 😜. Finished up with a meal at Wahaca - mexican street food - which is always good, but because it wasn’t busy we got the table in the converted VW campervan 😁
Littlest Chicklet goes back on the train today 😢. We follow tomorrow with a few extra bags, en route to Nottingham with Chicklet 😢
Morning all. @punkdoc, A small victory is better than a loss. He may have the funds, but the court found against him and should anything else happen in the future, I'm sure that judgement will be taken into consideration. Please try to stay positive. Love to you both.
Hello Chicky. Well done achieving your steps. I only aim for 6000. I don’t always get there, but every bit helps. Our son and his cat are coming down tomorrow for an overnight visit. Should be good.
@punkdoc a horrid situation but the court saw through him and hopefully he’ll now see sense ... he is devaluing his own property as well as yours of course.
Bon voyage to the Chicklets

Punk what a horrible situation Is there any way you can put in another drive? who was/is this guy (rhetorical)you can’t be the only person he upsets I am quite sure if Fairy Hosta and I had a wee chat we could send someone down to have a wee “chat” with him. (Old Glaswegian term)
Pat what an amazing strike, lucky it didn’t set off a fire.
Hope Chicklet has a good term, what would they do without mum and dad? I remember we would fill two cars!
must get up and going , eye surgeon today. I have thought carefully what I am going to say. I hope he has too , 5 months is ridiculous. OH invited me for a slap up lunch whatever the outcome. He is pretty fed up driving me!
poor Talla limping badly after walk yesterday. Am great believer in acupuncture so need to call for appointment. We start new school on Tuesday
have a a good day

What will you do with the eucalyptus , Pat? We have one in the garden I grew from seed. It got to about 30ft as a single stem with a trunk about a foot across. I kept saying we must cut it.It swayed a lot in high winds. OH didn't agree. Anyway one morning we had the same conversation, then I got in the bath. When I got out of the bath, I looked out of the window and said "Where has the eucalyptus gone?" Somehow it had broken near the base and was laid flat across the pond. Amazingly , in a crowded garden, it didn't hit anything else and nothing else was damaged. We chainsawed it up, and tidied the base. Five shoots grew up. Two were removed last year. It is back to the height it was, but with three trunks now. Tough leaves to shred but it smelt amazing while the compost heap was cooking away.
Fidget, ours will eventually become firewood. We need to wait until a cooler time of the year before risking sparks from the chainsaw.
I advise you to be wary of multi-stemmed specimens. They are weaker and might drop without much warning. 😳
i couldn’t believe how far some of the pieces were blown with the force of the strike. The whole trunk has been blown open. I assume it will try to recover, they are tough characters, but it doesn’t look promising to me.
The fire that Hubby and his mate have been putting out is not far from our back boundary and must have been from the same storm. I’ll try to put a photo of some of the smouldering remains. It was in a creek line, which explains why it took them two days to track down the reported smoke sighting.

There is another storm at the moment, so I hope it isn’t as bad.
