Hello we’re home and warming the house up. It’s too dark to go a flower count today ... it’ll have to be tomorrow.
Ill read back and see what you’ve all been up to when I’ve had a zizz on the sofa ...

Are you sure, Papi-Jo? It was going to be forbidden within 3 years but the Assemblée Nationale voted against in September.

Happy New Year everyone. Feeling somewhat fragile after a NYE's do and a very late night - but we didn't have to conga!

Best Wishes for a goood holiday.
He is a good conversationalist, but... if he’s sitting somewhere for 3 hours he could drop of to sleep and will certainly do so the minute the planes taken off😀

    Enjoy your hols, Hosta!

OH and I are off to Ireland in the morning.  I think we've got everything... we always ask if they need any pain killers, because you can't get generic ones in Ireland, only expensive branded stuff.  4 packets of Ibuprofen are packed in my case.   :)

Made myself cry this afternoon, watching "The Railway Children" (the old, original version, made on the local steam railway where OH is a volunteer.  He sometimes does Mr Perks' job at Oakworth, operating the level crossing etc).  The scene at the end does it to me every time - doesn't matter that I know it's coming...   :'(  ...stupid sentimental woman that I am.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Glad you’re safely there Hosta 🏖.....time to relax 😀. (Did the bulbs get planted ???)

Glad you've arrived safely, Hosta. Have fun.
Safe journey, Liri. Aren't we all a bit tired and emotional on New Year's Day... ? Enjoy Ireland.

Having been a bit poorly over Christmas (nothing major, just poorly) tomorrow is the day when I plan to wake up and get on with all the things I haven't managed to do in the past week. The decorations are staying up until the weekend as I've got relatives coming over, but other than that a larder sort, a wardrobe clear out and a bit of garden tidying are on the cards for this week.

But in the meantime, OH is cooking his last meal before returning to work tomorrow and I'm going to make the most of it!

  • Hi everyone, not sure about this new year, well today anyway, if it keeps up like this I might want to re-wind to 2018.
Popped back to SDs house as we forgot to take presents for my OH's  nephews children last night. When we got back the Hyacinth on the kitchen windowsill above the sink had decided to launch itself in to the sink. On the way it turned the hot tap full on (lever operated). We have a pump on all our hot water due to poor pressure so the hot was blasting out, sink was full of hot water,  luckily going down the 1/2 sink to the side. No flood but very messy with the compost from the pot all over the sink, and wasted 1/2 a tank of hot water.
Then this evening I went upstairs switched on the bedroom light, a bulb exploded and took the opaque glass globe shade with it. It gave me quite a shock (not literally though). Bed & bedroom showered in glass, we have just spent an hour plus hoovering & changing all the bed linen again (just done for new year). Dreading what number 3 is going to be !
