morning chaps. Very cold here this morning. We 're off out in a mo - vet visit but we'll take in a stroll along the beach while we're out, as it's dry and not windy.

Just popped in to say to @Dovefromabove - I've got a 'do not disturb' setting on my phone which I set from 10pm to 7am. The phone stays on but doesn't either ring or vibrate or make any noise except the alarm clock. I don't think all phones have it but it's worth a look because it saves having to remember to put it onto silent if you've got a stress texter about.

Morning all/afties, evening Pat. Very draining being in that heat. I don't envy you at all. Hope hubby isn't quite so sore now.
My sister has had thyroid problems for decades and had to have the op. She has an over active one, but had the symptoms of underactive, so it took a while to be diagnosed correctly. It seems to be a regular thing in our family - having 'opposite' symptoms or reactions to certain things.
Bet you're happy to miss the schlepp in, chicky. Worse than the actual day at work.
I meant to say yesterday - I saw you had a prob with a nail, Dove. I've used the teabag and nail varnish trick quite often. It works very well  :)
Is the decaff tea making a big difference Hosta? I was discussing it with someone a while ago as she's sleep deprived. Goes to bed late, gets up early, and always tired. There's other life stresses too, but I wondered if it would help her a bit.

@Fairygirl, yes, on the whole  , it's made a huge difference.
I used to get about 3 or 4 hours sleep a night, now I'm getting about 8.
I go decaff from 11am which allows me "proper tea" until then.
I had a wobbly couple of weeks before christmas when I was up in the night, but I got back to sleep again and still totalled a decent amount of sleep.
I have to say , it took about 2 or 3 months on de caf before it kicked in , but, for me, well worth it.

I’m lucky that I sleep well. I’d hate to be lying awake half the night

I'd have to say , I've never slept well, Even when I was in school, I'd lie away for hours before falling asleep

I thought that you seemed to be benefiting from the decaff most of the day, but couldn't recall exactly when you started/stopped taking it. I'll tell her, although I think she suffers from 'constantly being at the end of a phone' syndrome too, which is probably the biggest problem.

@raisingirl :) thanks for the reminder. I’d forgotten I can schedule Do not Disturb ... done it now (excepting family of course).

    Morning all.

Glad you are sleeping better now Hosta.

I leave my mobile phone downstairs where I can't hear it at night. Doesn't have much of a signal anyway.

Nothing planned here, HW needs doing in places. May take down the dining room decorations, but don't usually do it before 12th night. Will be a cold job, we don't use that room in winter and heating is turned off now that the family are gone. -6° this morning.

Ah ... but son sometimes works late into the night in strange places and then drives long distances home on his own ... he doesn’t really have anyone who would notice for a few hours if he didn’t turn up when expected ... he’s had to deal with some dodgy situations ... he’s not phoned me in a crisis in the wee small hours for years (not since he was locked in a Russian jail :o ) but I sleep better knowing he could get in touch in a real emergency.
