@Valley Gardener I looked out of one bedroom window and saw him dealing with a slug on the lawn. By the time l'd walked to the other bedroom and looked out again, l saw the cat and a few feathers on the lawn. Fortunately l saw the cat didn't have anything in her mouth, otherwise l would have feared the worst. Still, he lives to fight another day.....
@Fran IOM, the chocolate is still intact. The Tatton day was really only the one chance we had, l booked the hotel back in early May (got the last available room). Have had fingers crossed ever since, but family commitments just couldn't be accommodated, so we decided to cancel, it's a bit of a trek for one day, and it's been a few years since we were used to driving up and down the M6 for a couple  of junctions every day . Never mind, it's on the telly, maybe l will eat my bar of chocolate while l watch it !  :)

    Good morning everyone  :)
Bit of a busy morning today, but l might be treated to a cup of tea while we're out ( or may be a milkshake !).
Hedgehog didn't eat the food last night, maybe he's fed up of the same old thing each time. He was about though, as l could hear him scratching whilst lurking in the garden. Hopefully l will see him on camera later.
Hope you all have a good day and that l don't have any more Mr B drama !

Good morning folks, another beautiful day in the valley, no gardening today as son and girlfriend are arriving for a few days, so more a case of sitting out there with coffee and cake!
    Have a good day all.....

Good Morning all. Beautiful day here too. Haven't much on but just remembered I have to arrange for an engineer to call to fix the boiler so may have to stay in at some time.
@AnniD Enjoy your time out with tea or milkshake. It's strange that Mr H didn't eat anything last night. Maybe he is feeling the heat. No doubt Mr B has made his appearance this morning already.
@Valley Gardener Enjoy your son's visit. At least the weather is in your favour for sitting out and admiring the garden. How is your planting under the trellis going? Did you mention that you had bought some Sempervivum? Or am I getting confused? I wondered how it would work out with the trellis. I bought some and going to keep it in a pot for now.
I have two Hydrangeas. Found from somewhere and planted about two years ago. One is a lovely dark blue and the other is pink but completely different in as much as it only has flowers around the outside of the circle and does look pretty but don't know what type it is. Did google it but not much luck.
@Purplerain Hope you have a good day. The cat has not made an appearance for four days now so hoping that is a good sign. Going to get the mower out again for its second use but before I can use it I have to pick up all the small apples which have dropped from the tree. Very tedious but they get jammed in the mower otherwise.
Must make that phone call now.
    Enjoy your day all.

@Fran IOM.  This is where I put the houseleeks, hoping in time they cover a multitude of sins! Rocks to support them till they get going.
Still not sure about bottom of the trellis, the ledge isn't wide enough to do what Anni suggested.....May just leave it for now till we know how the seating will be,OH is mumbling about a swing seat, which would defeat the object of growing anything there. Personally I don't like Swingy things, makes me feel sea sick!
Hope all goes well with the tiny fallen Apple's and the mower! I know what you mean, they can be hard as rocks!

@Valley Gardener I had to laugh at my own ignorance! I didn't realise the Houseleeks were sempervivum and had veg more in mind! Had to google houseleeks and then the penny dropped! Have you planted them in holes in the wall or under the gravel? Not quite sure what to do with mine now. Do the houseleeks climb? I know mine has grown quite tall. You have plenty of time to think about what to plant under the trellis. Maybe a swing seat is not a good idea in your case! Lovely flowers you have there.
Must get on with things or the grass will never get cut. Hoping there aren't too many small apples to pick up.

Those sempervivums look very pretty tucked away like that - l love those walls of yours @Valley Gardener.
Have been to chiropractor and been sorted out for a few more months, went for tea rather than a milkshake, bought some new pillows, a kettle and some dishcloths. I know how to live !
OH dropped into stationary store for pens, while l was waiting in the car, l spotted a load of fir cones on the grass so grabbed a carrier bag and started collecting them. People driving past probably thought l was nuts. (No need for comment, thank you).
He was very pleased when he came back, as he wanted some for the bug hotel he's building, so all in all a productive morning.
Mr B came running up to the back door when we got back, probably knew l am worried about him 😊

Thank you for your kind comment, painting gets neglected a bit when spring and summer are here, much rather be out in the garden.😊

    Good morning everyone  :)
Hedgehog has regained his appetite after leaving the food the previous night. Saw the partial lunar eclipse last night, beautiful!  For some reason l'd forgotten that the moon would turn red,  even with just a pair of binoculars it looked stunning.
    Have a good day everyone.
