What a good idea, Dove. I don’t think I’ll be having a late night tonight.

  • Good morning all,
Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and the poorlys managed to enjoy it.
It feels like Spring the last few days and the toads are chirping in  the pond. I hope they don't get caught out later when we have some cold weather.
I had a eventful afternoon yesterday. A very flirty mare from the next field clambered through the hedge and teased my elderly Shetland by lifting her tail in front of him. He tried to do what comes naturally in spite of being a gelding and when the owner tried to get his pony back they didn't want to be separated. They were squealing and nipping each other. I was relieved when the mare was taken out of my field at last. My poor little pony is spending most of his time looking over to his love and calling to each other. He did come across for his breakfast this morning so maybe he is cooling down a bit.

    Morning all.

Good to see Steve the vet and Pottie Pam.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas. Mine was noisy and chaotic and involved a lot of cooking for a lot of people, but on the whole it was fun. The last family have just left, son 1, gone south to visit more family. They will be back for a night on their way back to Burgundy in a couple of days. I did get very tired and was rather ratty on Christmas Day afternoon, still woken by cough at night. Then the family realised and helped more. The cold and cough are a lot better now, but it's been a nasty bug.

  • Oooh @Pottie Pam  .... amorous equines eh?  Takes me back lol

@Busy-Lizzie lovely to have a house full but hope you can take it easy for a bit now.

OH has cycled into the city ... on his list is a nail repair kit ... I tore my thumbnail halfway down the nailbed just before Christmas Eve ... I've been keeping it covered with Bandaids so that it doesn't tear any more but we've run out of them and I caught it my my hair in the shower this morning so it's ripped across a bit further  :'( ... Thankfully it's my left hand but .........

Sounds awful Dove. I’m forever having nail problems with gardening. It makes it difficult to strum the Ukelele.

I couldnt have coped B Lizzie with all that work. I’m glad it was good though. Ps. I did the puzzle as we discussed, thanks again.

Afternoon all.   Another quiet day here with occasional sunny bits.  Just off for walkies with the dogs.   5C so need to wrap up a bit.    Possum is still coughing and sinussy so I'm leaving her here with a steam treatment.

I can cope with your temperatures Pat but we do have thick stone walls that keep the interior cool when it's really too hot outside.    Possum is still coughing and sinussy so I'm leaving her here with a steam treatment.

Hope you get your nail fix Dove.   Irritating and painful.

Hope everyone's having a good time and that you can relax a bit BL after all the chaos.   Keep well and safe everyone.

I have spent all day doing nothing! Well, I did feed the horses and the birds and clear up stray small bicycles and trucks from the garden.

Have just watched "Call the Midwife", recorded, then "Ever After, a Cinderella Story" with Drew Barrymore on Channel 4. I recognised various chateaux and bits of Dordogne countryside, including the Chateau de Hautefort which is only 25 minutes from here.
