We babysat for Son and DIL this morning so they could both go to DIL's echography. Echography was fine. They don't want to know if the baby is a boy or a girl. Will be their 4th, have 3 boys. We stayed for lunch, son had made a delicious chicken chow mein. I made a fruit salad. On the way home we went to see our friend in hospital.
Has rained all day. Off to watch Strictly, recorded last night.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Busy - the Louvre pyramid doesn't tower over and dwarf the main buildings. I saw it years ago soon after it was built and expected to hate it but it is actually quite small and lit up at night it is stunning and by day lets light in to the basement.
When is this one due and is it normal to have a scan on a Sunday?
It has peed down here all day too except for a brief spell of lighter rain this pm. I am not complaining as we need it and I have baked tomorow's cake for patch - Indian carrot cake with cardamom, pistachios and almonds by Madhur Jaffrey - and started sewing my machine patch homework.
Devilled kidneys for dinner as we needed something that would thaw and cook quickly.
AR - glad your door is fixed. We are enjoying some red wine. Mulled is for skiing or cold evenings out in the open air.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

The Chrysler Building is my favourite too, Chicky. I even have a photo of it outside my bedroom. New York is fabulous (I've only spent a few hours there, twice, so just a glimpse really).
Hello all, by the way!
Fairy, a friend of mine was a big walker and had similar feelings about sheep. He even had a couple of exhibitions of his sheep photos. I kid you not.
Liri, I hope the Messiah went brilliantly. It must be amazing to be part of something like that.
It's going to be a weird, probably stressful and chilly week - having our windows replaced in the same week that Trill has exams (that was not supposed to happen). Can't wait for decent, attractive, draught-free windows though.

Evening all. Only just got back online. grr. Thanks for the kind wishes. I've had to skim read everything in case I'm cut off again. I LOVE the Chrysler Building. Pat, I can trump your 30C . As a special Birthday Treat, it hit 37C here yesterday. I'll try to get on in the morning and see if I can catch up a bit before heading home on Tuesday. Love to all.
Oops - meant to wish you a Happy Birthday (or rather, Birthday Boxing Day as my kids would call it), Hosta. Holiday nearly over already? Surely you only just left!

I can’t can’t bring myself to go to NY no matter what friends say to me. My o h was there the week before and I still have the card he sent me of the towers saying he would be home soon

DIL's baby is due early April. Daughter is due mid March. Son and DIL are a dentist and an orthodontist and some of their friends are doctors at the hospital. I think that is why they were able to get a Sunday appointment.
Must go to bed, 12.30am here, OH has gone up. Nighties.

Well hello everyone. I just know that I won’t remember everything, but here goes.
i got interrupted last night, and you guessed, bl..dy Regina turned up. There went the evening viewing! Anyway, Hosta, I can’t imagine how you find 37 lovely. Today we have uninterrupted blue sky, but expecting about 27 and lots of wind.
Painting rooms doesn’t tempt me, but I have done it in the past.
Thanks for kind words about my colouring. I used three blues and then the white pencil to blend them. It’s a bit irritating needing to sharpen all the time, but it’s still fun.
Liri congrats to you and OH with the singing. It must be uplifting to be able to participate in the choirs. My Mother won a medal when she was about 14 years old at the Sydney Town Hall. I still have the medal somewhere safe.🤭. I think it was the Messiah that she sang.
The cat story made me laugh. My son said that his cat does that to him - pushes him off the electric blanket.😀
Chicky, I love your photos of NY. You’ll need a holiday when you get back.
Fairy your little girl’s photos are gorgeous. They are certainly important to keep safe. We often regret that we lost the early photos of our three kids in cyclone Tracy. Luckily, we had sent a small selection to my parents, so Mum offered them back to us after it was all over and we were settled into NSW/ACT, never to go to the NT again.
Now ive run out of memory. Will need to read back to see who I’ve missed.

Lovely photos, Fairygirl.
What about the Louvre Pyramid, Obelixx?

I can do 37C as long as it's not humid and I don't have to work outside in it. Enjoy your last few days Hosta.
I'm off to bed too. Lots to do tomorrow.
