Morning all . Hubby isn't amused as he has to take me to work this morning. We're banned from the car park now until after xmas. He has to take me there at 7.30, go home, go to"his" shop at 9, then I have to walk up to his shop at 2.30, collect car keys, go home, then return for him at 5. Bit of a faff, but we're only 1.5miles from town.
Morning. Well done the workers! I love the orange creams and don’t mind the coffees. We had a tin in work yesterday and the toffee pennies were the least popular. Have a good day all. Go easy on those mince pies folks!
Morning all/afties,evening Pat. I love the toffee pennies AuntyR , youngest does too [we take after my Dad] so send 'em up here and I'll send you the orange ones Sorry you're feeling so lousy BL. Can't the family bring some of the food and allow you to have a rest and not do all the catering? You'll be shattered Great pic Obelixx. They haven't mentioned much on the news recently here- has it all died down, or is it because there's another item to take over so they've forgotten about it all. That seems to be the nature of things
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I love the Toffee Pennies!!! Send them this way!!!
Good morning all . Weird dreams ... some quite funny.
@Fairygirl flippin predictive text ... Vic & Bob are on at 10pm on Wednesday evenings. Not sure which channel ... I’ll find out when I go downstairs. I’ll watch the recording. I was tired last night.
Hosta ... I’d happily lend you my bike ... but that’s quite a hill ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
And yes ... my mince pies have extra citrus zest, dried cranberries and finely chopped apple ... also orange zest and juice in the pastry ... but no icing sugar in pastry as some recommend

Morning all. Thank you Obelixx and Fairygirl. I feel a bit better this morning as no coughing fit in the night. But I have to go out for son's present. Hope to decorate the tree this afternoon, that's fun and not too taxing.
Sons are dealing with first course on Christmas Day and the trifle on Boxing Day. Daughter is bringing something for Christmas Eve evening. I may just leave the bedding on the beds for them to make up.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I don’t like any of the bought mince pies, they are much too sweet, as Dove says, sugar in the pastry, why do they have to do that. It doesn’t even look like pastry.
Pleased to see your children are going to be helping out at christmas, it’s nothing for them all to make up their own beds whereas you would have the lot to do!
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Good morning. Bright and sunny here again after a wild and wet night. I've been busy cleaning bird feeders and prepping a pumpkin to roast for soup and am about to get on with hanging more Xmas lights and so on.
FG - the gilets jaunes were out on Monday evening as I left La Roche to come home after mosaic and there are pockets of resistance elsewhere but Sunday's protest in Paris was less well attended and there were no reports of car burning etc. I suspect it will all kick off again in January unless everyone has an epiphany over Xmas - Macron and the govt need to develop some political savvy and communication skills and the protesters may then calm down.
On the rare occasions I make mince pies I use shop bought buttery shortcrust pastry and either make my own mincemeat or else liven up shop bought with extra booze, grated apple, bit of citrus or it's all far too sweet and sugary. Haven't even checked my cupboards to see if we have any mincemeat yet. Better do that before tomorrow's big shop.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
