    Morning.
Been awake since 5:30 as an ‘occurrence’ on the next street. Better not say too much. Had to call police etc. Bit distressing. Hope all ok now anyway.
On third or forth cuppa - no point going back to sleep. Need to go to buy a new door handle ‘bit’ anyway.

    Have a good day all.

Oh dear @AuntyRach ((hugs)). Good that you called the police ... so often folk turn their heads away from difficult occurrences.
Hope the day settles for you now and you get the door handle fixed.

I must say, had all sorts running through my mind. Whilst I was on the phone, the operator said some more calls were coming in, so at least some neighbours raised the alarm too.

    Morning all.

Hope things calm down for you now, @AuntyRach - and your door catch gets fixed easily.

Amazingly intricate colouring, @Pat E.  I'm not surprised your eyes get tired...

I left OH at our son's last night, as it's the monthly rehearsal for the Finnish-language choir today, but I have a different concert to sing in this evening here in my town (with an afternoon rehearsal).  The cat took advantage of OH's absence to push me over onto his side of the bed.  I really don't know how she does it... I just wake up and find myself in a different place, with the moggy on my pillow!

Today's concert is the Choral Society's annual performance of Handel's "Messiah", with the local orchestra accompanying.  It's been put on every year for... can't remember how long, about 80 years, I think, and the tickets sell out within the first week.  I don't know why it's such a tradition in West Yorks, but I love it.  (Our performance record is as nothing compared with Halifax choral society's, this year celebrating their 200th "Messiah" in unbroken sequence...)

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I once sung ‘Messiah’ in my county youth choir many moons ago. Very special. Good luck @Liriodendron - I bet there will be goosebumps aplenty.

  • Good luck @Liriodendron .  Loved singing 'Messiah' back in the day :)   It happens here in Norwich Anglican Cathedral every year too, but the tickets sell out very quickly.

  • Thanks, AuntyRach!  It's a hard sing, especially with an afternoon rehearsal - but worth it.   :)

    AuntyR  :(
Hope it's calmed down a bit now. Very upsetting when these things happen - especially if it's out of the ordinary in your area.
Liri - glad you had a lovely day yesterday, and exciting time later today for you. I'm sure you'll sing like a nightingale. The Messiah is undeniably a stunning piece  :)
The heavy rain forecast hasn't really happened. It's just grey and damp after some murky fog earlier. Not sure whether to attempt outdoor stuff or try and get a start on the  painting in the bedroom which I keep putting off. I have bought the paint, so that's something....
I've been sorting photos for all sorts of things to put on the walls or in photo albums. I decided to do one with the girls through the years. Many are old style-ee, pre digital, so that was fun.
I took pix from a couple of my oldest when she was last did some gardening.... :D

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
