Apologies Dove - I thought it was your son re the birthday too. I'll let you off with it then  :D
It's very difficult at this time of year fidget. Something nice for a big birthday is the way to go. Le Manoir - very posh, and lovely Raymond....sigh....
I did laugh at Obelixx's link, although - hasn't this been disscussed before by people who claim animals have regional accents?
    Or did I dream that....
Hosta - my bedroom is more or less at the back of the house, and gets the full ofrce of most wind, so when I fell asleep on the couch [lounge is at the front, and a bit protected] I heard nothing much. Went through to the back and it was like one of those sound effects for films  :D
Daughter has made mince pies and gingernut biscuits. Don't tell her that I pinched one with my cuppa.... o:)

We know about birds having regional accents FG - what made me laugh was somone  trying to work out how to count only the European fish in that Lough and not the Northern Irish ones.  Electronic tagging?

  • Yay!  Fire sorted ... two new fuses fitted in its innards and a new cooker hood fitted!  £65 very pleased with that.

Moira's operation has been cancelled. All elective surgery cancelled for 1st. 2 weeks in January due to bed pressures, no new appointment given. She is not a happy bunny.

I rather suspected that would happen.  Par for the course in winter really.   No less frustrating for you both tho.   Sorry.

  • Oh I’m sorry to hear that @punkdoc ... I know hospitals are ‘clearing the decks’ so to speak, for the winter ... understandable but that doesn’t help Moira and she must be very disappointed ... my sincere commiserations .

What a drag, doc. Don't let it spoil your Christmas festivities if you can. I hope she doesn't have to wait too long for a new appointment.
Obelixx - I thought it was animals as well that had been debated re the accents. I laughed out loud though, with the bit about the fish!  :D
65 quid sounds a good deal Dove. You don't get much of anything for that nowadays.

Evening all. That is typical @punkdoc - hope your wife is not suffering with symptoms whilst she is waiting. I notice at my hospital that many of the surgical wards are full of medical patients over Winter and elective cases are then postponed.

(Any solutions Mrs May et al??)...

Had a quiet day off today. Awful rain but did venture out for a few essentials and a little pressie for us (as we don’t do Christmas gifts for each other) - a TV ‘stick’ thingy for the kitchen tele. Just trying to set it up... 😠😡🤬
