I found some Herdwicks for FG whilst looking for photos of Possum on our last trip oop north. North end of Derwentwater. Typical July weather. I do like the chocolatey ones.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Hurrah!! I actually finished at 4pm!! I've found various "coconut oils" but most seem to be solid, but apparently it melts at over 25C back to liquid. @Obelixx, I'm too tight to buy moisturiser if I can get something else cheaper. Asian corner shops are non existent "in these parts" I've found this: https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/asian/ktc-coconut-oil-500ml
Ooh - I like a Herdwick. Couldn't eat a whole one. No, really - I couldn't....unless it was actually chocolatey Hope you had a good day Hosta. LP - I thought the detective heading the investigation, and having to do the horrible 'front of camera' piece, was genuinely disturbed about it all. Clearly came as a huge shock to everyone. Been lovely here - got two trees. One for the house, and a smaller, potted one to go outside and grow on for future use. It can have some lights on it too, once I get round to it. The washing even dried quite well as it was also quite breeezy now and again. Only needed 20 mins in the drier. I've managed to lose the key to the shed [last weekend] and despite looking in all the usual places I leave it, I still can't find the b***er. Might need to saw the lock open now. I was intending splitting the pachysandras I bought [I did one] but the compost is in there...*&$**#**
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I've been away for a few days providing backup for our son and DIL, caring for their 1-year-old son, who kept getting a temperature of 40-ish following his MMR and meningitis vaccinations. Dad has panic attacks and was finding it incredibly stressful looking after the baby. Turns out the baby has an ear infection - he's much improved after a couple of days of antibiotics. I think the vaccinations were a red herring... anyway, I got lots of cuddles and smiles once he started feeling better.
That's a b*&&**, Fairy! And you can bet your bottom dollar that an hour after you break your way in to the shed, you'll find the key... my shed key is usually in the washing machine, in the pocket of my jeans.
Hope you're getting acclimatised again, Hosta. You might not need that coconut oil in Britain for a month or two...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
False economy Hosta. The coconut oil will not be as well absorbed and will come off on your clothes and bedding and furniture which will then need cleaning/washing/ironing whereas even cheap body moisturiser will be better absorbed and do a better job. Your body tho so your choice.
Liri - hope he's on the mend now. Ear infections are unpleasant for anyone, let alone one year olds who can't explain what the problem is very well and don't understand why such things hurt. Not like banging into something and feeling the resulting discomfort and making the association is it?
Agree about that key FG. It'll turn up when you've solved the problem and maybe had to fork out for a new lock.

Unless he turns into a coconut..... I'd been wondering where you were. Glad baby is ok. Always rather stressful when these things happen though, especially if Dad was struggling too. Gran to the rescue I'm really hacked off about the key. It's something I'm very conscientious about in general. I've never lost keys, and always keep them in sensible places, and always put them back. I usually lock the door, and stick it on the back steps while I tidy other stuff away. I even checked the door to see if it was actually locked, with just the little snib holding it shut, but yes - it's locked. The only place it could be apart from the norm, would be in a fleece/waistcoat pocket, but I checked those.

@Fairygirl I suggest you look for the outside Christmas lights or something of that sort. I almost always find things I've lost when i'm looking for something else.
Went down to our nearest NT place for a walk with the dogs today - wouldn't normally attempt it on a Sunday but the weather is so atrocious, didn't think there'd be many people about (there weren't). We drove down the Exe valley road to get there - the river is in full spate - out of its banks here and there. The main road into the village is flooded, luckily we were in the truck so could get through. There are tree branches down everywhere. It's been awful this past week. Hoping for a calmer spell for a few days so things can dry out a bit and we can clear up some of the mess - the roads are inches deep in mud and leaves everywhere.
Still, we picked up some of the windfall wood on the way home so the fire's lit now.

Evening all. Still full after my beef and Yorkshires lunch here. Going to have a nice bath with new ‘gingerbread’ bubble bath later. I noticed loads of garden birds today too. Still awaiting the Fieldfares - usually mid-December...
Hubby found a perfectly decent moisturiser ( made in usa ) in The Gambia so we might just clear the shelves when we return on Jan 1st. News from NZ is heartbreaking. I'm sure I was the only one weeping with that policeman.
