Have fun planting hellebore babies Fairy 🌱

last couple of of days have been full on work wise, so looking forward to some R&R.   Pretty parky here too ❄️❄️❄️
  • You’re tougher than I am @Fairygirl ... its too damp and raw out there for me. I’m making myself useful knitting  a stripey jumper for Wonky while sticky Asian style short ribs are chuntering in the slow cooker.
I’ve also ordered the wool for an Aran sweater for OH ... felt the need for a bit of a challenge :o   ;)

    I ain't that tough Dove - honest!
The woman I work with used to do Aran jumpers. She's a very accomplished knitter, or was, but her hands are too arthritic now.
Plenty of cosy layers for you too chicky, and Mr chicky  :)
Have you been to stick two fingers up at Trump Towers yet?  :D
Think I may change my little signature thingy later as it's a new month.

Better shift or it'll be dark. Laters peeps, as the young folk say. Maybe not....  ;)

Very smart AuntyR. Will the roses last a while?
Got quite a bit done outside. It wasn't too cold really, and there was only a little dampness occasionally. Gloves got wet - I can't cope with them for gardening, they just get in the way. Everything's wet and manky though, so I tried my best with them.
Got some other plants put in that were needing done, and tipped out a pot of compost where sweet peas had been and used it to top dress the  border I was doing. Having to move a big pot of white crocus now because the pot has given up. That was a bit of a pain, and they'll have to wait till another day to get replanted in their new home.
The birds were annoyed though because I stayed out until it was dark and stopped them having their tea  :(

  • That’s really lovely @AuntyRach
@Fairygirl it’s many years since I last knitted an Aran ... and on its first outing its   recipient (who shall be nameless, but we are no longer married) managed to leave it in the football changing rooms at an away game.  :#

Too damp and cold here for any gardening Fairy.
LilyP, not the best bit of road for your car to break down.
Is it the Edinburgh advent calendar you have? I sent that one to my friend in Oz as she lived in Edinburgh for years.
Remember Hosta that you're only as old as you feel. Hope you've had a happy birthday.

Another grey and miserable day here.
I was just talking to Mum on the phone, she has offered to come and help, when Moira comes out of hospital! She is 91, virtually blind and a bit wobbly....... but a tough old bird.

Re the table decoration - it will usually last until Christmas, with keeping the oasis damp, although I will replace the fresh flowers if required. The reason we do it on the first weekend in December is as a Memorial Day for our Mum, as it would have been her Birthday on the 2nd and we always did something like a treat or trip out followed by starting to bring some of the Christmas bits and bobs out and having mince pies etc.

Right, I have just gone to open lounge door and the handle won’t turn!?!! This happened once before. Luckily I am THIS side as no phone, screwdriver (or, indeed, loo) the other side which could have been tricky as OH asleep upstairs (between shifts and wanting to stay up late to watch boxing later). I will break the news shortly...
