i know @Hostafan1 (and probably do me others) think I’m mad
Aye! One of my kitchen/dining windows has a little hole in the corner where the phone line comes in, and when it's windy, you get that whistling, howling noise like the 'wind sound effect' they use in films/tv Watching the news. Those poor people who's daughter is missing in NZ, now presumed dead. The worst news any parent can have, especially when it isn't an accident.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
No chance of bedroom window being open in the winter here! Brrr! Very windy but the sun is shining.
Builder should finish the window after lunch. I hope he does, we need to go out for various things, including Christmas cards. Window has made a huge difference in the dark breakfast room. The is a pane of glass in the garden door but wasn't anything like enough. I cleared up the mess before the builder came, need a shower, hair is full of fine dust. We'd stuck plastic sheeting all over everything, including the carpet.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Stil blustery here but not wet. I forgot to go for a physio session for my naughty trapezius yesterday afternoon - all due to the excitement of the plumber coming back unexpectedly in mid afternoon to finish off the new shower room. Radiator now in and working, hand towel rail in place and the hot water tank filled and heated. Nearly 15 months from breaking the ground for the pipes and foundations so we were just a tad excited.
Good luck with your builder and all the mess Busy. Hope it gets done on time. OH enjoyed his sweet and sour pork. I used the light recipe from BBC Good Food and just added a bit of chopped pineapple. Very tasty and easy too.
We have a book and seed swap to go to this pm. We have a few books but I haven't gone thru the seeds. Apparently they do a plant swap in spring so I will make sure I have spare babies. Other than that, I need to trim the edges of my Xmas cloth and do a binding and then it's done.
We sleep with the windows open but shutters down in warmer weather tho I have been known to keep itclosed during the most lively period of dawn chorus. We open windows in the day time to freshen up and, unless it's really cold outside, don't have the heating on upstairs except in the bathroom when we're showering and my sewing room if it's a bit chilly to sit.
FG - maybe several albums of 20 or so photos but each one with a theme?
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Hi all. We only shut the bedroom window when the stream level is very high, as it makes a hell of a racket. Otherwise the window is open in all weathers, i am a great believer in the curative properties of fresh air. Sunny day here, but feeling completely devoid of energy, so just mooching around. We are due the builders again next week, more leaks from the roof.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Had one of those days in town where I kept bumping into peeps I know but have not seen for years. A little shopping took a loooong time 😳
Off to get a Christmas tree now 🎄. Won’t go up til next weekend when the girls are home to decorate it. But will put the rest of the decorations up this afternoon 🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻. Its begining to feel a lot like Christmas 🎵🎶🎵
Did a montage of Chicklet photos through the years for her 21st bday earlier this year ....made me very wistful. Great thing to do Fairy - I’m with Obxx,go for multiple albums 👍🏻
Been following the NZ story, wishing for a happy ending. Appears not. Such a tragedy. My nephew is backpacking in NZ at the moment, also in Auckland. Stay safe S**

I knew I was right My little gardening granny did the same .... she also took a cold bath every day until she was well into her eighties .... she said it was good for her ...
For an update on our Smart Meter Saga ... head to the Curmudgeons' Corner ... I would find it hard to believe if it hadn't happened to me
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Been looking at some disadvantages of the Smart Meter, they will not get in here to install one! Whoever heard of any supply company that did anything to make things cheaper for us, that’s not why they are in business. We also have our bedroom window open all through the year, the vent at the top, and just about an inch crack in the large window.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Builder still hasn't finished, we left him to it this afternoon as we had to go to the SM, also buy some more Charity Christmas cards.
The Doctor told my mother off for having the bedroom window open in winter when my father caught bronchitis. I give the room a little airing in the day but not at night. No heating at night.

I do have vents in the new windows, where my bedroom is, and they stay open. When it's very windy, it burls through them and creates a helluva draft though, so I often have to close one or two! Window is open through the day. Been busy today as my new cabinet [ for tv and storage] arrived this morning, so I've been sorting and binning like a wumman possessed. Collected youngest and then a trip to the tip with her [old cabinet needs two people to lift it ] and a drive with her, and then more tidying and photo sorting. I intended going for a tree too when we were out, chicky, but it got very wet again, so I might go tomorrow as it's to be dry. I miss a real tree, so that's what we'll have. I think it would definitely be far more than a little photo album- I haven't even started on the digital pix I'll need to get printed. It's been nice looking through them though - sandcastles and paddling pools and all the gubbins they get up to when little. Hope your nephew is ok chicky. It's a desperately sad story. Not got C'mas cards yet, but have ordered them. Cutting down on them anyway. Too late for the John Muir Trust ones I often buy, but have found some nice ones by renowned landscape photographer Colin Baxter. Hope your builder's made a good job, BL. The mess will be worth it. Won't have a smart meter.

Absolutely no chance of any windows open in this house right now: it's chuckin' it down and blowin' a gale. ( for a change )
