  • It’s been absolutely tipping it down this morning ... so much that it was driving into the car where the top of the side window meets the retractable roof !!!
Its stopped raining now and we too have some little blue patches.
Ive been to Dunelm to get some new innards for our cushions. Now we have fat cushions rather than flat ones  :D

    Afternoon forkers.
Had a window of blue sky this afternoon so ventured out to check on garden - potted Daffodils peeping! Just back from collecting Christmas tree, so it’s having a good drink outside before it is released from the net.
Hope you all ok, rain or shine (ok it’s probably rain).

Our Xmas tree is also still in its net and having a drink and can stay that way at least another week to 10 days.

Leccy on and off all afternoon and we assume it's because of high winds and not because, finally, we have the new hot water tank for the new shower room filled and connected.    The plumber is lovely and fastidious so it's all looking good.   He loved the chocolate chip biscuits I made this morning when there were two of them.

Right, as the leccy is on again, I shall go and carry on quilting - Stitch in the ditch technique.   First attempt at proper quilting but going OK so far..........

    Hello from Norfolk.
The builder came to put in the small window in the breakfast room, not as messy as the other window. Poor chap, horrid weather this morning, but he did come dressed for it.

I’ve been doing my Christmas cards and cut out 3 more curtains.

Scallops for lunch and Chinese for dinner sounds delish, Obelixx. Hope he’s had a good birthday.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Evening folks.
We had a reasonable morning too LP, although there was still rain and wind. It came in later in the day, although the winds weren't quite as hefty as the forecast predicted, and  the forecast this morning was saying 40 to 50mph, rather than the 50 to 60 predicted previously. I think we were a bit on the fringes too, so it was no worse than many other days.
Sad about Pete Shelley doc, although I was never a punk fan. No age at all.  :/
I was listening to some old James Taylor stuf last week and I'm reminded of his song, Never Die Young: 'Never give up, never slow down, Never grow old, never ever die young'.
Glad hubby's had his birthday treats Obelixx, but I hope he doesn't think it's a birthday weekend, and tries to extend the treats for a couple more days.... ;)
Just been watching Landward. Even though I know how huge it is, I'm always amazed at the statistic about the volume of  water in Loch Ness.

I read somewhere this week that the trick to dieing young is to do it as late as possible. Sound advice.

    Good morning all  :)
Jolly windy outside overnight ... it woke us and we had to shut the window!

Morning peeps/afties,evening Pat if you're there.
Wind woke me quite a few times Dove, and it's till blowy, but not wet at the moment, as far as I can tell [too dark to see ] although it's to rain again later.
    Why was your window open!
Looking through more pix of the girls when they were wee. Lovely memories for me to get into an album, but how am I going to narrow them down to just twenty or so....

  • @Fairygirl - It was relatively mild here last night and I like a bit of fresh air once I’m snuggled under the duvet. I also like to hear the sounds of the night ... owls, foxes, deer etc while I drift off. Don’t hear them every night, but love it when I do  :)
i know @Hostafan1 (and probably do me others) think I’m mad  :D
