Headache gone and pizza consumed. I have not eaten very healthily today as I remembered I had a cheese sarnie for lunch - oops! Oh well, I had blueberries on my breakfast cereal at least. I can’t really drink much any more ,particularly wine,(unfortunately, as I love a good red) but I can manage an ale. I had a chocolate stout last week - gorgeous!

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Doom Bar... named after  a sandbank.

    "
    Sharps Doom Bar
First brewed: 1995 ABV: 4.0% (cask), 4.3% (bottle) Bitterness: 20 IBU

Doom Bar is inspired by its namesake, the treacherous sandbank at the mouth of the Camel Estuary near Sharps' home at Rock. Accomplished and precise, Doom Bar is the epitomy of consistency, balance and moreish appeal and is now the UK's no.1 selling cask beer."

Very popular in this house too, along with Marstons Pedigree (but only in bottles, not canned)

Unfortunately beers like Doombar and Marstons are no longer brewed in their original locations but are just international brands now made in giant factories. I remember watching a range of beer kegs with different brand names all being filled from the same huge tank at a major brewery. The only difference between them was the dry hop pellets added before sealing the keg. Just like instant coffee has the aroma injected as the jar is sealed to give that smell as you break the seal.
  • Morning all. A cold 1.5 start with clear blue sky's not a beer drinker scrumpy cider is my choice for the warm summer days with wine or a good G&T this time of the year.

Busy day today it's the village autumn show and I have some how volunteered my help :/ I have also grown and nurtured a pumpkin all year so that's going to be there just for fun don't expect any prizes, but as they say it's the taking part that counts.

    Morning G'sBoy /afties Pat if you're there.
Cold and clear here too. Lovely sky and the moon is bright. Zero at the moment, and cars are frozen. My outdoor temp. monitor isn't working - it's stopped at around 0 to 1 degree. The normal one is fine.
Enjoy your show - hard work!  :)

    Morning all.
None of that nasty booze stuff for me now. ( almost 3 years ). Nobody is more surprised than I am  that I've stuck with it, and absolutely don't miss it one bit. I stress, I'm NOT one of those horrible converts who thinks everyone else should give up too. @Dovefromabove and @Lyn will confirm that I'm happy to serve booze to anyone.
Heavy rain and hail overnight and the house feels cold this morning.
    I HATE WINTER.

Morning Hosta - you've never mentioned not liking winter before..... :disappointed:
You do realise it's only autumn still?  ;)
I was wondering how long you'd been bevvy free. The health benefits alone - are you still doing well weight wise too?

I've just been out to retrieve the card from the camera. Hilarious. MrFoxy [think I'll call him Laurence...] had three visits. Half 7, half 12, and then half 6. He's not happy that he can't get into the back garden.  :) The difference in temp between the back and front/side gardens is fascinating though, unless it's very incorrectly calibrated. Minus 2 when I switched it on at about 6 pm, and minus 7 by 6.30 am.

hiya @Fairygirl. I lost 4 stone and have put on about 1 1/2 . I've been stable at that for about 18  months . I'm pretty happy where I am now. I can still wear 34"waist jeans.
For me "clocks change = winter"
Right, hair cut at 9am so I'd best get my skates on.
Catch you all later. Have a lovely weekend.
    Devon.
