The redwings have arrived. There's a large flock of them on the holly behind the house.

We have starlings in the summer ... they nest under next door's rooftiles ... over the past few weeks we've been watching the various family groups meet up and practice their aerial manoeuvres ... not seen them for the past few mornings ... maybe they're down your way @Hostafan1 :)

Our holiday tickets have arrived. 2 weeks next Tuesday we're off to the sun and the heat.
As much as I hate the "getting there" I love "being there".
@Dovefromabove, the arrival of the starlings is , to me, another sign of winter. What with the clock change at the weekend, grrrrrrr :'(

I like the clocks going back and could do with them never going forward again.   At least you won't have jetlag flying north south Hosta.

We have starlings here all year it seems to me.  They're the worst culprits for nicking figs before they ripen.

I like them going forward and wish they'd never go back. I'd rather have daylight at 6pm, rather than 6am.

Starlings here for a while Hosta. Bl**dy messy things.
Lovely to have redwings Joyce. I only see one occasionally - and that's in the fileds nearby, not the garden.
They look good Dove, but I'm making do with a coffee and a piece of toast for lunch. Fatty milky coffee from a certain place. Daughter still likes her Friday habit even though we're not at work. ;)
Still lovely outside, but just a bit too cold to sit for long. Great weather for grafting which I'll be doing in a few minutes. I managed to put my foot in the pond while attaching a little bug house to the post beside it. Just as well I've osmething else to wear onmy feet...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I've got all the agapanthus into the tunnel, but it's going to be tight to get the cannas and dahlias in there too.
I'm dumping the hedychium as, even after the summer we've just had, I've not had a single flower on any of them.
