We used to get that black rice from Waitrose (who else?) and loved it but it disappeared from the shelves. Same thing happened with Camargue red rice and many other little treasures. Waitrose keep a book for customer requests but everything we have put in there gets ignored. Same with their online customer satisfaction surveys.

Well,  the rain came last night. 3.5mm isn’t to be sneezed at. This morning it is sunny but lots of dark grey clouds rolling in, so there might be more. Hope Obelixx gets some. We seem to be matching lately.

Thanks HH for suggesting that the avenue of crab apples might be more interesting. Good thought. I was just a bit irritated that they weren’t all the same. 😏

Great amelanchier Dove - its growing into a really shapely tree 🌳

Plants make the best birthday presents Diana 🎁. What sort were they?

Pdoc, I once went for a meeting in Downing Street, and my best bit was the pictures on the stairs too 🖼

Quiet couple of days at work to look forward to (yay), and then its time for holibobs (double yay).  Best go check the long range weather forecast one more time 😉

    Morning all.
    I'm glad you've had some rain @Pat E
Where are you going @chicky? 3 weeks next Tuesday we're off to The Gambia.
Rubbish night last night. Awake until after 1am. A bit of a rarity now, but still annoying.

We’re going cycling down the Moselle valley - starting in France 🇫🇷  and finishing in Germany 🇩🇪.  Don’t need blazing sunshine, but no rain would be most welcome.  Its just the two of us going, but we have booked with a company that moves your luggage from hotel/B&B to hotel so we don’t have to be laden down (I’m not a “2 T-shirts and a toothbrush will do me for a week” kinda girl 😳).....and also drives us and our bikes the 200 miles back to where we started (and our car 🚗 ).  Cycling for softies is what Mr C calls it 😀

By the time we get back you’ll be in full countdown to Gambia 🎉

Morning Chicky and Hosta. Yes Hosta, very pleased to get some rain.
Weve just beeen for a walk. The triple graft apple tree has flowers, the cherries as well.  Fingers crossed for fruit this summer.

Tell Mr C that cycling for softies = having an engine on you bike! ;)
I love that you're full of hope for summer as we're rapidly heading into winter.  We watched a programme last night about some disabled ex service personnel in  Kimberley . Beautiful . I was amazed when they said it was twice the size of Britian. Oz is BIG.

Morning Dove. Those holidays that Hosta and Chicky are planning sound wonderful. It’s too late for us to do cycling though. What a clever way to do it.

After a threatening sky all day today, it’s now warm and sunny at 5.20Pm. Crazy. I held off doing the washing because I was sure it was going to pour down. Maybe tomorrow.
