Never had mains gas until we moved to Norwich ... most villages here don't have it ... some of the smaller market towns don't seem to either.

@Fairygirl :) ... I've managed to post one the right way up over on the Garden Gallery, along with a few other pics.

I'm a huge Springwatch/Christ Packham fan ... but then I have a very soft spot for those along the autistic spectrum ... I don't always agree with everything he says but I recognise the slightly obsessive nature of what he says for what it is and paste my own little patch of flexibility over it.   ;)

Yes, Fairy. I was, unrealistically, hoping that they’d all be the same. Should have remembered what I was taught at Horticulture School. It is interesting though to have such a range. Maybe I could select one and give it a new cultivar name and sell cuttings.😆😆😆
However, sometimes I forget I’m old and retired though. 🤨

im in bed and gradually losing concentration here. Might turn off.  Night all.

  • @Dovefromabove Amelanchier looks great as for the picture being in the right direction I have the same trouble at times looks great on the page until you send it then is all wrong I tend to give up after a few attempts  :/

@Pat E  the avenue looks great I think the variety adds interest.

@punkdoc Glad you enjoyed you free lunch at tax payers expense only joking shame they don't recognise more people like you that do such a good job and so often go unmentioned and unnoticed.

Spent the morning shut in a lecture theatre something I have not done for a few years.
I had forgotten what fun it is talking to and answering questions, and how clever some young people (18 - 21) are at adapting and being able to think outside the box when encouraged to do so.

Very pretty pink lilac and golden sunset in Norfolk.

Spam  advert alert on Japanese knotweed. Their identification service may be free, but I bet the eradication service is pricey

Hi Dovefromabove, sorry don't understand what do you mean 2 more flags needed.
I was talking about Fidget's post about the spam advert ... 3 people (including me) had flagged it so it needed two more ... after 5 it disappears so the Mods can assess it.

If we had a sun set you would never know to grey overcast and dark here :(

Evening all. Bit more driving with fairylet - all fine. She's quite good at her reversing now, and getting some good clutch control etc. My car is much bigger than the one she's learning in, so it's trickier for her, but she adapts well. It's all good practice anyway.  :)
We seemed to have had a bit of a sunset too Dove, but I didn't get the chance to admire it. Not a bad day here after the rain cleared. Single figures now but still clear and a nice moon.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Good that junior FG is doing well.   Possum refused to go out with me so practised with her dad and we also paid for a full set of lessons in a manual shift car as ours are both automatics.   Found another rice in my pantry tonight - riso venere which is black but fat, unlike wild rice, and has a wonderful nutty flavour.   First came acors it in a restaurant on the caost.   Great with fish.
