I've been out to top up the bird feeders. It's flippin' freezin' out there.
I think I might lock myself in the polytunnel and start taking down the tomatoes until the sun gets up a bit.
    Devon.

Ach - ya big bunch of southern softies.... :D
I quite like the winter....I know Hosta, I know....
Morning all /afties Pat. We've already had a few bits of snow on the hills, but October is when the first proper falls get going and start to  hang around.
Dove - how about a nice big furry throw instead of a pashmina?  ;)
The hogs must find something very tasty at the edge of the grass where the little path is in the front garden. They dig it up quite often, as well as the gravel infills between the paving. Judging by the number of 'deposits' there must be a few of them. I'm hoping it's mum and the two young 'uns. Thinking of getting a camera.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Morning Fairy you sneaked in there 😁, I used to like winter as a child but I just don’t like driving on icy roads 😬

Oh yes. I've got some washing to put in the machines first.
The Gambia 6 weeks on Tuesday ( but who's counting? ) Should be around a blissful 39C there then. Hurrah.

    ya weirdo.
What's to like? it's freezing cold, you have to wear / launder twice as many clothes, the heating bills go through the roof and it's dark  DARK , DARK.
    Devon.

     :D
I don't mind the dark either - not so keen when I get up, but I don't mind it in the afternoon. Perhaps I should move to Scandinavia when I retire..... ;)

It's all so deeply , deeply depressing.
    Devon.

Done Dove - just 1 more needed.
I know Hosta - I joke about the weather, but it can be utterly miserable when the winter drags on and on. We're used to it being longer, but when it rains endlessly, which it often does, it can be depressing. Snow, frost and ice is so much better - drier and healthier.  :)
I was hoping it would be bright and dry today, but it's breezy with a touch of dampness in the air. Should I get a washing on?

    Morning all.

Autumn chill in France too, 7° when I got up. But it's sunny and should be 24° this afternoon. Only thing is it means several clothes changes in a day! Layers is the answer.

Not many posts when I posted lasted night, but 3 pages already this morning.

Must get on, more washing, mostly towels, and more logs to stack.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
